Pine Grove Nursery School

About

Pine Grove is a co-operative nursery school that has served Rutgers, Highland Park, and Piscataway families since 1957. We offer a unique learning experience that emphasizes
hands-on and creative play as well as a meaningful
connection to nature.

Story

At Pine Grove, children are encouraged to become independent learners through a wide variety of activities and opportunities for discovery each day. Our children express themselves through art, music, and language experiences. They work on decision-making and problem-solving while building with blocks or engaging in dramatic play. They try new ways of thinking while doing science experiments or cooking. Language develops through singing, reading and writing stories and in nurturing and caring relationships with other children and adults.

Mission

We believe the school shares with the home a responsibility to nurture all aspects of a young child's development. Children gain a sense of community with others in their lives through experiencing parents, children and teachers working together. By creating a warm and accepting environment, our children develop trust in others and feel the freedom to become creative and independent learners.
