Very nicely maintained! Whether you are on foot, on a bike, or in a car, getting around in The Park is easy. There are many picnic tables, a gazebo, a big flower bed, a huge bird aviary, a very large covered separate picnic area, a big pond with ducks and swans and record-size trees. That names most of it! Oh yes...No charge, either. Great place to relax!

One of many nicely maintained, large family parks in the area. This one has a fantastic aviary with dozens of exotic species of birds. That's not something that you see in most places! This place holds a lot of special memories for my wife and I as we used to take long walks around thecponds, streams and trees, read under the shade of the beautiful trees and just relax in the parks quiet beauty. That was nearly 20 years ago. Was so pleased to see that it has gotten even nicer over the years. Kudos to Walla Walla for keeping this and so many other places in town so nice!

Soak up the shady peace in this amazing park. Pioneer Park is a jewel nestled in Walla Walla, a green and clean place to enjoy the quiet alone or picnic with friends and family. The only thing keeping it from a five star rating is the kids play equipment. Oddly enough, the one place that needs shade the most has practically none. Many years ago, the swings were placed facing east-west and were shaded during the hottest part of the day. Now the swings are located on the north end of the playground area facing north-south and get no shade whatsoever. My son could not even sit on the seats because they were so hot, and it was only 11 AM. If you want to let your kids use the playground this summer, stick to early morning. Orherwise, this is a beautiful and peaceful park. Enjoy!

Nice variety of toys for the kids to play on, lots of shade everywhere from all the trees. There's a small Aviary with different birds and a large duck pond. There's a walking path throughout most of it and a public bathroom. There's lots of parking spread throughout the park and a large Gazebo in the center of it. Fantastic park for picnics, birthdays and/or BBQ's! There is even a baseball field/tennis court as well. This is one of our son's favorite parks, hands down!

Love Pioneer park, my 2 small dogs live to walk and watch the squirrels. I enjoy meeting people a lot from out of town here visiting.
