If you're willing to deal limited floor space, equipment availability and terrible parking it'd be fine I suppose, however the moment you try to end your contract after the one year period they become the most unhelpful, obtuse and unreasonable group of people I've ever dealt with. Beyond unprofessional. Save yourself the trouble and join Planet Fitness if you're looking for a $10 a month gym.

Have been a member at Platinum for years. If training is need the staff is very well informed and helpful. This is one of the cleanest gym that I have been in and is a bargain at the price for membership.

Platinum Health & Fitness is the perfect gym for us. From our first information gathering discussions with Samantha, to today with 4 weeks of personal training and nutrition counseling under our belt, we couldn't be happier. We have both lost weight each week, and are already noticing changes in our physique. If one month produces this type of satisfying results, we can't wait to see where we are in the weeks and months coming. We have belonged to gyms before, but have never experienced such friendly helpful, supportive people. At Platinum, the knowledgeable friendly staff are always willing to help and answer questions. Everyone is smiling and friendly, unlike our “old” gym where you were lucky if anyone even said hello. We have made a new commitment to being as healthy as possible and joining Platinum is our ticket toward reaching our fitness goal. The facility is clean, and the patrons do their part in keeping the machines/equipment sanitary after each use. There is plenty of room and state-of-the-art equipment for everyone so you don't have to spend time waiting in line. Although we've not taken any classes yet, I've seen nothing but happy, smiling people coming out at the end....so to me, that says the classes are a big “hit”. My husband and I have been working with our trainers several time per week, and what we love most is their focused attention to our individual abilities and personal fitness goals. They have customized our personal plans and not tried to apply a one size fits all “cookie-cutter” type program. Both Phil and Kyle have exhibited a genuine interest in our personal success and have proven themselves to be knowledgeable, attentive and reactive to our training and nutritional needs. No longer is working out the dreaded mundane part of our day, instead we find ourselves looking forward to the time each day when walk in and are met with a smile from the front desk staffer and can get down to business of getting fit. Thank you Platinum Health & Fitness and Performance Fitness Training for all that you do. We will keep coming back and highly recommend both Platinum and Performance Fitness Training to anyone searching for a fitness / training home - you won't be disappointed.

I have been a loyal member for 11 years and have found that a lot of the services that were initially offered have been gradually removed over time. The most obvious example of this are the services that women are more likely to be interested in. Free child care was taken away, as well as the women's only workout room, which is the main reason why I joined. As of now, I'm not aware of any plans to give us a different space although two rooms upstairs sit virtually empty. The group fitness classes have also been dwindling, and classes like yoga and Pilates have been removed completely. Staff monitor class attendance like hawks and remove classes from the schedule that might not be as consistently attended instead of promoting them. I have even heard that instructors have their pay docked if attendance falls below a certain number. Is this even legal? It makes the class experience completely awkward knowing this, especially as the instructors are great and work so hard. The facility itself also needs some help. The floors not only look dirty, but they are absolutely filthy. You will come off of the floor with debris on your clothing and skin. A lot of the mats and barbells are seriously old and are in need of being replaced. I don't think the floor roll up mats have been replaced since I joined. I would recommend bringing you own, but you shouldn't feel like you have to, as every gym offers these. It would be such a small expense to pay for a noticeable improvement. Platinum also doesn't even offer the use of towels anymore, with the reason being that patrons were stealing them. I find this had to believe - it was just another area to cut an expense. Platinum had turned into a cheap and rundown facility that doesn't seem to care about their female patrons unique needs. If I weren't interested in having some extras, I would go to Planet Fitness at the reduced rate, but I do want a gym that offers more and seems to care what their members think. LA Fitness or Gold's is not as close to my house, but if things keep deteriorating at this rate, I will consider leaving. I know a lot of members already have. Please get it together, Platinum. I would prefer not to give up on you, but the falling quality of your facility is becoming very noticeable.

I went to Platinum a few years ago and re-joined the other month after going to Planet Fitness and am SO happy with the gym. It has never been cleaner and the membership rates are super cheap for all that you get. I only pay $20 a month to have the gym plus to be able to bring a guest any time I want. I'll never go back to Planet!
