If you are confused by the mixed and extreme reviews like I was, I almost didn’t try Plaza Colombian Coffee, I highly recommend it after our delicious breakfast and coffee experience. I had the breakfast El Colombians sandwich with a blended Endulzado coffee and my wife had the breakfast arepa and drip coffee with a shot of espresso. The coffee drinks were tasty and well brewed/pulled and the eggs on our respective items were soft and creamy and delicious. We forgot to take pictures until almost finished. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful, recommending items to try. This isn’t a chain coffee shop- the food is actually made in house not like Starbucks where they just pop the egg bite into the heater. And my blended drink was perfectly sweetened.
Do not sleep on this place! Excellent food, friendly staff, great environment, incredible prices. Amazing hidden gem! Gluten free burger on plantains with pineapple??? Yes please. Don’t miss the empanadas either. 10/10Food: 5/5
Food was delicious.. had the Columbian sandwich with arrepa, which is served with fried plantain chips and green and red salsa.. both are non spicy.. the red was the best. Had other items on the menu, all very good. The atmosphere is relaxing.. with indoor sesting and two outdoor patios. I would return.Food: 5/5
Authentic Colombian cuisine in a beautiful atmosphere. They even have a drive through. The empanadas were out of this world.Food: 5/5
Menu was written in Spanish only. Servers could barely speak English. It was difficult to order anything. So we just git a pastry that was in the showcase. And I order a Chi Tea. Which was terrible. Tea bag still in it. Atmosphere was pleasantFood: 3/5
Don’t get me wrong by this one-star review the food is delicious. The place is great, with great decor, and great employees and today is one of the most important Colombian soccer games against Brazil. I came into the place and I came to my surprise that me being the only single person outside the gentleman who I suppose is theManager with a black shirt Closed the door and didn’t allow me to go in saying that they were “full” and they have no space for anyone else which is understandable but even though I ask him, hey let me sit in the floor side so I can watch the game. He just says no, and closes the door on my face, I feel disrespected and humiliated as you can see in the video. I’m just in a chair outside looking through the window. The only person outside. I understand his actions if there were tons of people outside waiting, but for me, just one person is humiliating. You lost a customer.
This is the perfect slice of Colombia in Austin. Can’t believe we found this but it was exactly what was needed. The empanadas were possibly the best Colombian empanadas I’ve ever had including literally in Colombia. I couldn’t believe it. Atmosphere is beautiful, service is polite. Will be back!
I visited Plaza Colombian Coffee, and while the food was delicious, I was disappointed in other aspects. The person at the register had an unfriendly attitude, which affected the experience right from the start. Additionally, although the dishes tasted great, the portions were quite small—more like a kid’s portion. This place is ideal if you’re just looking for a snack or something quick, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re expecting a full meal.
.The arepas and empanadas were mouthwatering and packed with authentic flavors. The arepas were perfectly cooked and the fillings were generous and tasty. The empanadas were crispy and filled with a savory filling that left me wanting more. To accompany my meal, I tried the coffee and it was smooth, rich, and the perfect complement to my food. The staff at Plaza Colombia were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was top-notch. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, with cheerful Colombian music playing in the background. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Plaza Colombia and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Colombian cuisine in Austin.
Immediately YES! As soon as we walked in we knew the food was gonna be great! The coffee is imported from Colombia & the food was bursting with flavor & love! My interactions with the staff was great especially when we spoke in Spanish. We had the empanadas, mocha coffee, chicken arepita & plantain hamburger. Go try it out if you’re in Austin, no regrets! Dietary restrictions: Gluten & dairy free options Parking: Has enough spots for abt 10 vehicles Wheelchair accessibility: There’s parking
