My girls and I enjoyed the food and the service at Pleroma. Upon entry we were greeted warmly by the owner and chef, a lovely Cameroonian couple. The rum punch was a hitter and the combo fried rice and plantain was delicious! I have to return to try their cassava leaf, oxtail and more! Love enjoying great vibes and great West African food right here in my neck of the woods! I'll be back!
It was our 1st time to Pleroma. We made certain that the Peanut Butter soup was on the menu and ordered it with the pounded white sweet potato. The Goat Stew was flavorful, paired well with the Jollof rice and plantains. We ordered fufu as an additional side, to dip in the soup and stew since this has been our experience elsewhere. The use of cracked dishware kind of took away from the experience as presentation is important. Top Dijno, a sparkling mixed fruit nonalcoholic beverage from Cameroon was enjoyable and refreshing. Yvo, our server was delightful and a definite asset to the restaurant. Parking: There is Plenty of parking.
Absolutely loved this experience! This was my first time trying this and it was super delicious. Bianka was super sweet and kind. The atmosphere was great too. Overall amazing experience! We traveled almost 2 hours to come here and will come back. We got Beef Egusi soup, seafood Okro, Beef Suya and fufuFood: 5/5
Had two things here in different occasions: cassava leave with chicken over rice, suya. Did not particularly enjoy the cassava leaf or the chicken. Chicken was a little tough and the flavor was bland for cassava., didn’t taste as good as other cassava I’ve had but it was okay. Suya was good but expensive ~$23 for the portions see photo. They’re friendly and super quick though
Place was amazing. Wasn't expecting the combination of flavors. Highly recommend. Will be coming back once I'm done visiting NY to try again before I head home.Food: 5/5

Went out late at night for my birthday dinner date looking for a more lowkey spot with great food and I followed the great reviews to Pleroma! The food was incredible the flavor was fantastic, and the serving size was filling. I came specifically for fried plantains and I was not disappointed. The place is beautiful inside, but definitely crowded on a Friday night. The atmosphere is a bit loud for two people to chat casually but I didn't mind much. The owner was nice enough to introduce himself as well. I really recommend it!
The food and drinks was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was out of this world music played the whole time customer service was excellent . I will most definitely be coming backFood: 5/5
Happened to come across this restaurant when in Laurel and it was my first time trying African food. The interior is nicely decorated and Bianka was incredibly welcoming and kind! She recommended the African D’jino drink and I got the fish stew along with Jollof rice and fufu. Everything was incredibly flavorful and delicious with good portion sizes and presentation. I’ll be back. Must visit!
