Came for dinner and sat on the patio in the back. Inside was way too loud for my taste. Overall, food was amazing. The bone marrow and escargots were fantastic, and the mussels mustard sauce were phenomenal. I highly recommend all three of those. The steak was not worth ordering. It came sliced, which I don’t prefer. It also was overcooked I ordered it medium rare but came medium well. In terms of the service… food was very slow to come out. There were several severs running food, refilling waters, etc. which was lovely. While the steak was disappointing, I would come back to order the other items again. I think I’d sit at the bar next time.
This is the cutest little brunch spot with the kindest and most amazing, vibrant, and hospitable staff! We went to celebrate my best friend’s bridal shower and the bottomless brunch bottomless mimosas that are poured frequently with your choice of entrees from a wide selection of items was impressively priced at $41 especially for NYC! The host/server we had I wish I got their name because they *made* our experience was a true ray of sunshine and such a sweetheart and our table of 8 girls had a thoroughly fantastic time. The only reason I withheld a star was 1 it’s cash only and you may not know that off the bat, which is a bit frustrating 2 it was a muggy day and there didn’t appear to be air conditioning at the premises- it was a bit muggy and humid. Otherwise, it was a lovely time- the food isn’t to die for but it was still delicious for the price especially! Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free and dairy free options/can accommodate same!
Very cute and beautiful garden! Everyone was really nice. The food was so good too but not amazing. But I had a very nice time.
This place definitely has a vibe. Located in the East Village, it maintains a neighborhood feel. The interior looks good but needs a little touch-up with decor. The French cuisine offers a good variety of different signature French dishes. I recommend the escargot and octopus carpaccio as appetizers. For the entrée, I ordered branzino. It was good, but it had a light fish taste, which I personally don’t like based on my experience, well-cooked fish usually doesn’t taste too fishy. Meanwhile, the mussels were made great. I’m not a big fan of them, but they are cooked very well at this place. To sum up, it’s recommended for an old-vibe New York dining experience.
Any place I come back for a second time means it’s worth my time. Beautiful calming atmosphere. good food. Last time I was here I had the best French Toast I’ve ever had in my life. This time it was all but mediocre unfortunately. Everything was fine, nothing wrong - just not exceptional; hence, the 4 stars. Thank you for having us.
Their bottomless brunch option with mimosa/Bloody Mary is a great deal. By the way, you can switch from mimosa to Bloody Mary or vice versa during the course of your meal. Really liked the Tunisian eggs and French toast. My friends liked the escargot as well.
Great spot for brunch, waitstaff are super friendly and speed of food & service is excellent! The Turkish eggs are to die for, generous portions and mimosas/bloody marys were flowing without needing to ask. What more could you want for a Sunday brunch. I would definitely advise pre-booking to guarantee a table, those without a reservation had a long wait time.
Lovely restaurant with a nice back garden. Good selection of wine. The steak was cooked well. So were the fries. We tried both the original and the truffle fries and they were both good but I preferred the texture of the truffle ones better. Burger was good too. Tried bone marrow and the crab salad for appetizers. The crab salad smelled like canned tuna for some reason?! But it was good. Profiteroles were really good.
Pardon my review. So, I feel like the biggest draw to this place is the "perceived" value; however, you get there and the truth quickly reveals itself. I don't mind cost cuts if the guest doesn't know/feel the difference, but here, you feel it every step of the way. You dine in a HOT unairconditioned hallway with wobbly wooden tables long past due for retirement. Unfiltered tap water to drink. NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED; CASH ONLY. Prosecco mimosas made with mostly OJ. Greens as side but when asked for potatoes instead they said it would be a $10 upcharge, even though potatoes are less food cost than greens and you get about 1/2 cup total. Undercooked egg whites on croque madame, no Mornay sauce, and VERY poor quality eggs. Website advertises that the entire staff speaks french, but the spanish speaking backserver was confused and non-responsive when addressed in French. Spend $20 more overall at a different brunch place of your choice and get double the bang for your buck! Not reccomended!! Would NOT go back.
Finally a place with real French food and affordable prices! I cannot praise the cuisine highly enough. I have formal training and professional experience in cooking French food, so I hope my opinion counts for something. We had a three-course meal for three people and honestly every single thing we had was stellar. The service was perfect, and we felt so welcomed by the entire staff. Honestly I can't wait to go back. My only nitpick would be that the lights were so low that we had to use our cell phones to see the food, and I didn't think the music l soundtrack lived up to the elegance of the food. Otherwise it was the most perfect dining experience I could imagine.
