My husband and I went to the Pond House to celebrate my cousin's 40th birthday. It was a bit of a drive ( around and hour and a half) to get there from where we live.

I was slightly concerned when pulling up due to the restaurant reminding me of someone's home instead of being a popular restaurant, but we drove right in.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Being Southern, be all ordered sweet tea, which came out in pitchers and rolls that were soft and slightly buttery. I regret not taking any pictures of our actual meal. My husband got a combo platter with fried shrimp and crab cakes and I ordered a prime rib. The prime rib was the size of my very large plate. Soaking in the juices and cooked exactly how I asked it. It was delicious. My husband snarfed down his plate only left with a satisfied grin.

I hate the drive, but food and service wise, this place is hands down a  wonderful spot to visit!

Great steaks and huge portions. If you leave hungry, that's on you! Very friendly staff and beautiful location. Worth the drive.
