Was VERY disappointed with this place as a poke lover and Asian.. $18 for a bowl with 80% rice and maybe 7 pieces of salmon. There was so much ginger and onion, like they were trying to cover up the lack of fish see photo. EVEN MORE OF AN ISSUE: ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR. The salmon had no fatty richness and the “sauces” I got  or lack of was astounding, I had to add my own sauce when I got home because it was so damn dry. Besides the overpriced bowl of rice, the service was bad too :/ Like others mentioned, rude workers that look like they don’t want to be there. Won’t be coming back here again.

Ordered take out and received this….. Asked for extra salmon but it is literally the same amount if I didn’t pay for extra compared to my Gfs bowl with no added protein. Also look at the amount of ginger they placed in my bowl to fill in the missing space of the protein.  Never ordering here again.

I absolutely love this place. The fish is always so fresh, and you can tell that the staff goes the extra mile to put together your food. They are always lovely and take the time to ask about your day. The ambience inside is super cool, it’s filled with plants and is intimate but comforting. Great lunch/dinner spot.Food: 5/5

The staff member who handed me my pick up order was super friendly and kind and the poke was delicious! The only thing is the regular portion size is very large, so next time I'd probably get a small. I didn't dine in but the atmosphere was super calm and peaceful.Food: 5/5

On the one hand the shop has a sign saying “Good Vibes Only” to customers, but on the other hand the staff has a bad attitude review section shows a few complaints about this in the past few months, too. Food is great. Maybe make that sign double-sided. Hope it gets fixed. Would love to have a good poke place near home.Food: 5/5

The food was absolutely delicious and I really loved the presentation and the speed of delivery. I ordered the Shashimi style bowl with salmon and with avocado toppings. It's one of their best sellers and I can vouch for that after tasting it.Food: 4/5

DELICIOUS!!! Honestly some of the best poke I’ve ever had I eat a ton. Very high quality fish / ingredients, amazing atmosphere, and super friendly staff! Been here 2x during my Chicago trip and wish I could take it back with my to TX. Highly recommend!

Pono Ono is my 'happy place' in Evanston and definitely one of my favorites! The quality of food and service is always consistently great, and I always look forward to grabbing a tasty treat for myself after a long day of classes. The ambience with all the plants is a plus, making it a relaxingly enjoyable place to eat.Food: 5/5
