My husband and I have had many date nights here but it had been a long time. I decided to order for our family - this is still one of my favorites - we missed enjoying our delicious food inside Poppy’s, however we shared stories of some very nice times we have had in the past. Everything was wonderful! Some of the photos below were taken after a bite was taken! We highly recommend this restaurant for the excellent service and delicious food!
This hideaway is an absolute find! You will not be disappointed! The garlic mussels were exceptionally good. I also had the meatballs and the seafood special. Their red sauce is uncommonly excellent! Every dish was bursting with flavor and freshness. The service was also excellent! Everyone was friendly and nice, and isn't that what you want when you go to a restaurant! I'm definitely going back!
The food was great here. I had the chicken parmagiana. The chicken was moist. The dessert was great. I have never had mint tortufu. The waitress was very nice and was very helpful.
Solid pasta dishes and nice warm bread basket to start. Be sure to ask your server which of the pasta dishes are fresh made pasta not everything is. I had the pappardelle w meat sauce -- v good. This would be 4 stars if not for all the TVs at the bar being tuned to Fox News and lack of ambiance in back dining room area. Our server was very nice.
Delicious food, reasonable prices, friendly waitress. I had an eggplant parm hero which was excellent. The people I dined with enjoyed their meals as well. I would highly recommend and would love to go back to this restaurant. It has a neighborhood friendly type of feel. You don't have to get dressed up. They have an excellent looking dinner special with all the trimmings that I might want to try next time when I'm really hungry.
Poppy’s has become a family tradition with us. You are greeted as soon as you walk in the door, like family. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, we’ve never been rushed, the food is delicious, good sized portions, and very reasonable. Can’t recommend Poppy’s Place enough. P.S. and their mixed drinks are awesome. I always try the drink of the day- last time Pumpkin Martini
Such a great place for dinner! Warm friendly atmosphere! Services was excellent!!!
This was my first time coming to Poppy's Place and they did not disappoint. We ordered calamari and baked clams as appetizers and they were both very good. The calamari was light and tender and the two sauces were excellent. I ordered my usual chicken parmigian with ziti and my wife ordered their vegetable lasagna. We both commented how delicious the meals were. I believe they must make their own fresh pasta given how good it was. We ordered a couple of cappuccinos, slice of carrot cake, and mini cannoli for desserts. They were all excellent and accompanied by homemade whip cream - so good! The service was excellent and our waitress went out of her way to make us and our finicky little son feel welcome. We are so happy we decided to try Poppys Place and would definitely return.
Calamari was wonderful. The only issue was that there was a bit of a wait time for food.
Years ago, I went to Poppy's Place to celebrate my niece's conformation and my sister eats here all the time and recommended this establishment. We were excited to try this restaurant again on July 2, 2023. The Rigatoni Ala Vodka was bland and pale in coloration and definitely did not look or taste like traditional Rigatoni Ala Vodka. Most importantly, my son ordered the Angel Hair Primavera with chicken and got violently ill after consumption; he did not even finish the entire dish! He had all symptoms aligned to food poisoning and is still having bad cramping as I type this review. When I called the restaurant to suggest to throw the sauce away, the lady told me that the sauce was made yesterday night and that my son probably just got a stomach virus out of the blue. She told me four customers at the bar ate it and did not get sick. She even suggested that my son was possibly allergic to the dish but in reality, my son has ordered Pasta Primavera from other restaurants in the past and has been perfectly fine. She showed no compassion at all for my son who lost his entire night to food poisoning. No accommodations were offered and it certainly didn't sound like they were going to throw the sauce away anytime soon! If you want real, traditional, and fresh Italian food with great customer service, than I would not suggest going here. My family and I will definitely not be returning. It takes years to gain a customer and seconds to loose one and trust me, they definitely lost one!
