As a first responder of a large restoration company currently working in 7 of the large multi family condominiums that have been so tragically flooded off Hwy 361. Myself and our guys have been in town for a little over two days. We find ourselves at a road block one mile from our airbnb. As we spoke with the female officer she informed us at 1am that there is a midnight curfew in affect due to loitering and damages to protect the town. After which I explained our situation and where we've been working and the 20 hour shifts our team has been putting in. She told us that doesn't matter and we should of paid attention to the curfews. I then in a last effort to persuade the officer asked if we could recieve a police escort. She replied absolutely not!  As a family of marines and law officers, Including being the owner of Patterson Remodeling I feel this is terribly wrong to my guys and I and the hard work we've been putting in to mitigate and restore this town. I respect the power in which these officers hold and the orders they've been given, but this isn't right. We made contact at 1:00 am, contacted the police department at 1:05 and received a call back at 2:22 am from the supervisor. The sergeant was extremely kind and understanding but let us know no one is to enter beside fuelers. Knowing that we will now drive to corpus to get a hotel after waiting so long. My review is not one of sympathy for myself or my tired team, but a direct review hopefully the MAYOR will see and lift the law to be at the discretion of a supervisor on active duty during cerfew. First responders and police officers are on the same team I always thought?  Through all the hurricanes I've fought we've always been respected and treated so kindly by police and locals for our sacrifices and time away from our families to help one another. For now that isn't the case. I hope this helps ya'll in the future. Have a good evening Port Aransas, I still believe in Texas I hope you will too!

Love it but people doesn't respect the signing and they make a turn on wrong deraction. No respect for the long waiting. Police should be alert .
