I engaged the services of Porter Moving Company for a long distance move to AZ. From the very beginning they were professional. John was great in terms of gathering all the information and putting together a competitive quote. Kyle showed up on the moving day on time and had things loaded up effectiently. They made sure that the furniture was padded up thus avoiding damage to furniture or walls. They arrived 3 days later exactly as promised. Everything in the truck looked exactly as it did when they loaded. I'm very happy I picked them for my long distance move. I highly recommended their services.

Poorest company I have ever tried to do business with. Communication doesn't exist I have called there several times talked to real people and they tell me they will return my call and that is the last I hear from them now when I call there all I get is a voice recording and if you leave a message you are wasting your time!!!!!

I am a mover for this company and i love my job, we always make sure the customer is happy by the time we leave.

Definitely cheaper, but not worth it. If you do go with them, make sure you are there to 100% supervise! Good customer service, poor moving skills. CAME LATE:Fast forward to the day of the move... my husband took the day off work to be there for the 8am start time... they didn't show up until 10am... My husband called the company and they swear they had 10am written down, not 8. Because of the timing, my husband wasn't able to be at the old house the whole time to supervise loading the truck like planned. POOR PACKING SKILLS: The two movers that came were both really nice guys. It was more their packing skills that were an issue. They started to load the truck with boxes and then said whoops they forgot the mattresses so went and grabbed them partway through the truck-- no big deal except that however they packed that truck was not very thoughtful because they ran out of room and weren't able to bring all of our stuff over. When my husband was at the old house in the beginning, they wrapped up the furniture with the plastic wrap so all seemed fine. When they arrived to unload at the new house, my husband noticed that the only furniture wrapped up was the two pieces that he had been home to supervise. NONE of the other furniture had any kind of protection. LOTS OF DAMAGE: Due to the fact that they over-stuffed and poorly packed the truck with seemingly no thoughtful planning on the best way to load it, in addition to the lack of using any type of protection that they clearly had sitting in the truck, we had lots and lots of damage as you can image. Here's the rundown: - scratched wood floors in 2 spots in old house - huge scratch in wood end table - scratch on newly finished wood kitchen table - paint scratched off on two kitchen table chairs, daughter's armoire, daughter's changing table dresser - huge gauges in wood child's growth chart ruler - gauge in my daughter's crib rail - wood trim on daughter's changing table dresser knocked off So that is what we noticed when we called the company to complain. Here is what else we noticed after a few days and we got into unpacking: - dry wall gauged in 2 corners of our brand new painted house (had to patch, sand, and re-paint those spots) - dirt stains on our cream loveseat - additional gauges along the leg of our wood end table - broke a part of my husband's table saw GOOD RESPONSE FROM MANAGEMENT: Management's response was very good, luckily. Both Kyle and Mike came out to the house a day or two later to see the damaged furniture and check that it was fresh damage not just old scratches, etc. They did agree that it was new damage and even said they could tell furniture wasn't wrapped up. They did dock off a couple hundred dollars off of our bill and were very apologetic. I will say that their customer service was really excellent. A lot of moving companies would have probably said oh well all of that damage could have been there before,etc. FINAL SAY: Despite the good response from management, they still can't correct all of the damaged furniture, walls, and floors, and the trips we had to take back and forth from the house for the stuff they couldn't fit in their truck. We would never hire this company again, but if you decide to, make sure you are there to watch them!
