Big O tourneys!  That is the best by far. Hopefully this place gets more of those going. Traveled just to play it.  Love the freeze out structures the best as well. True poker!...Very clean and comfortable chairs so you can actually play for a while.... Lots of sharks and not enough fish like me is the only downside...8

Make sure while you're there to try to have good time, that you avoid the mental torture that comes with communicating with the taller half-Asian guy named Paul. First off, he'll double-talk you to death. Meaning, he likes to play word games, and look at you like you're an idiot for not knowing the difference (ie "We don't have CASH games." Instead of just saying something like we call them Shoot-outs). He also will tell you they don't take 'tips' but they remind you at least every hour that it is 'rake free' poker.  Second, he shows zero care, and nothing but indifference. Basically it's the old 'I have fake power' complex. Maybe that's why he stopped losing at poker, and has the only option of making a life-career by working under the table for semi-legitimate poker halls. Lastly, he will tell you all about the City of Portland poker LAWS, but can't show you proof. 

Along with him, the wait service there is beyond sub-par. They look at customer with contempt and hate to be bothered with a drink request. If you can't stand poker players and how they are, find another line of work. Awful attitudes!

This is the hands down the best place to play live poker in Portland. Friendly dealers and wait staff. Club fee and drink prices are very reasonable. Fair and professional payout structure. Plenty of parking at the facility. Regulars are a good group of people. I very much enjoy playing there and hope to for many years to come.

If you are expecting Vegas, Meadows isn't there yet.  It's a great poker room  ZERO Rake there.  The $15 cover is well worth it.  I have been going on the weekends and the cash games here are great.    Played at the Final Table and won't go there again, Meadows is much better.   This is a great and comfortable poker room once you get used to it.  The cash games are great and the Sunday tournament was well run.  Can't beat rake free poker!  It should be more popular.  Great place to play if you are thinking of going, do it.

A couple of 1 * reviews are from people who say they've never been there, then why post a review?

It's a great place; my favorite poker room in town. It's got decent food and drinks. Service isn't always very quick but they only have two people at most serving the entire floor so it's expected. Besides, I'm there to play poker and not have a gourmet meal, and poker here has always been fun. The have BigO shootouts as well, which although takes a little time to get used to, is a lot more fun that Texas Hold'em.
