I love to visit diners from other towns when I’m traveling. We found Post Road Diner online and it had good reviews and decided to try it. The breakfast was amazing! Our server was excellent. I highly recommend visiting if you are anywhere near Norwalk CT!
Yesterday evening , we stopped at the diner for a bite. The food was ok at best. it was not busy when we arrived and were seated promptly. The waiter however took awhile to take our order and we had to wave our hands several times for additional services. Again it wasn’t busy; other waiters were standing behind the counter. I only went b/c at my sister’s suggestions. She recommended I give the food 2.5 rating and service a 0. Will not return anytime soon. Only if all the restaurants and diners are closed and I am starving.
Post road diner is always a good idea. It’s also in a very convenient location on the main road, right next to the highway entrances. I ordered the chicken souvlaki with waffle fries, and my plate was heaping with salad, meats, pita and FRIES. In love with every bite staff and service were great and wait time was minimal.
Really can’t go wrong with an old design diner with good food. Can’t go wrong either with a BLT. The food satisfied the craving, set up like an old fashioned diner. Parking is on lot. Overall, great place to stop for breakfast or some comfort food.
All I can say is, It's not horrible. Good tasting food, but small portions as far as diners go. My chicken finger looked more like a knuckle.
Just okay, not bad, 3 stars for food. Ordered a chocolate malt, water and the Moussaka dinner comes with a small Greek salad. The malt was okay, but the chunks of powdered malt lead me to believe the powdered malt was old and chunky, not a good start. Not worth the $8 price. The salad had a nice presentation, but had the ‘bagged salad’ dryness and blandness to it. The Moussaka was supposed to be a house specialty, and while properly cooked, it lacked flavor. For me it needed a touch of cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg. This place was featured on Triple-D and of the now 8 places across the US I have visited from the show, this one is dead last on that list. It does not take you to flavor town and is definitely a disappointment.
After ordering for 5, and drinks delivered to the table......8 to 10 mins. later, 5 plates arrived! Everything we ordered was there. Good food. Waitress was "on it". They open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 2:00 a.m. I guess that's time to clean and restock.Food: 5/5

The turkey chowder soup was excellent. My grandbaby declared that their mac and cheese is the best! They serve good food, with a friendly smile. Will definitely stop by again.Food: 5/5
Classic diners are a dying breed, but here is one staying true to the old diner ways. It has the classic look, too, walking up to it & walking inside. Food is good and doesn't seem nor taste like reheated frozen industrial food. I didn't get the attentive service I seek from classic diners, but it was friendly enough. Stop in if you're looking for an old school diner experience.
