Awesome airport for general aviation. Quiet and surrounded by beautiful scenery. I was warned about cracks in the run and potentially high grass, but I found the runway to be excellent for a Cessna 172. Landed there on a fall pleasure flight to see the beautiful fall colors. Met Jay, who owns one of the hangers and he gave us a great suggestion to walk to a restaurant nearby for some food. We did. It was 1.6 miles surrounded by the Potomac River, mountains, trees, and farmland. Very peaceful and remote, yet accessible by a plane. The walk to the restaurant was partly over a busy bridge, but it was manageable. The food at the Potomac River Grill was great; 5 stars! If you have a chance to fly into W35, don't miss the opportunity. That's what makes general aviation amazing!
