The city clerk, Stephanie Townsley, is a sad excuse for a city clerk. She seriously needs to take some communication classes at the local college and learn effective communication. She is very rude and disrespectful and it pains me that my tax dollars pay her salary. We need a city clerk that can do their job effectively, not make things worse on the people that are the reason she has a paycheck! I have dealt with the city of Denison and Sherman for traffic tickets and neither of their clerks were as uneducated and disrespectful as Pottsboro's, she represents our city poorly and something needs to be done about it.

It's very disappointing that a small town that should have small town values is guilty of setting speed traps. We were going north on Hwy 289 and as we got to the top of the bridge right before Brookshires, the speed limit changes to 45. Before we even crossed the speed limit sign, the officer perched just at the bottom of the hill was already in motion. As soon as my husband saw the speed limit sign, he hit his brakes to start slowing down. This ticket cost us $190, $202.95 with processing fee, and we would have fought this ticket if we weren't heading out on a cross country trip before the court date. Shame!
