Story

First a bit about myself. I have two children, and had a thought long ago, or should I say desire, to start a FLOWER SHOP when my kids got out of college. When I started working a 'real job' at Lands End, as a GIM, and later in the buying department, I traveled the world, looking for great things to sell in the catalog, always with the 'flower shop' thing in the back of my mind... a longing to work for myself, doing what I love..... one thing led to another (crappy boss, long hours, etc.), and I started taking floral design classes, and that, along with the classes I have had in interior design and merchandising paved my way to PRAIRIE FLOWERS AND GIFTS. It certainly hasn't been easy, but I am reminded every time I make a bouquet of why I made the change!
Now about my shop. I am a full service florist, with daily deliveries to the Spring Green & Sauk Prairie area's. We offer FREE delivery to local funerals, and the hospital in Prairie du Sac. We do flowers 4 weddings, funerals, birthdays, anniversaries, and any other occasion. Each bouquet is unique, and made fresh... we don't believe in having pre-mades sitting in the cooler for days (or even weeks) until they sell - we custom make them fresh for you. But don't worry, they only take me a couple of minutes. I remember my floral teacher saying to me - "You are going to make a lot of $ in this business because you are so fast!" On to gifts.... I search long and hard to get gifts for my shop that are unique. I don't want them if they are sold next door, or for that matter, even in Madison. I look for unique gifts that you don't see everywhere else, and then try to come up with creative ways to show them, and use them in your home. Here are some of my lines - decorative accessories, mirrors, lamps, rugs, candles, sympathy memorial items, baby & kids, entertaining, food (dip mixes, chocolates, etc.), textiles, dinnerware, glassware, flatware, women's accessories like jewelry, hats, scarves, bags, travel, lotions, spa products, ... you get the idea. Oh, and also, I accept consignment items - if you make something wonderful, stop in, and let's see it! Maybe we can sell it in the shop and make some money for you!
