We recently purchased a very old house that needed to be completely gutted and renovated. Our decision to use Chris was a bit unusual - in order to secure a renovation loan and mortgage we needed to have a contractor identified and loan papers signed in a very short period of time. Not knowing any contractors, I called Chris on a weekend and he picked up his phone, answered my questions and agreed to meet us at house to give his opinion. He kindly signed our papers the evening before leaving for a family vacation and we had no choice but to put our faith in him. He delivered! During the course of our project, Chris was ALWAYS on time when we needed to meet, as well as on time finishing the project! He also communicated things clearly and we appreciated that. Since we were new to renovating, we occasionally needed help making decisions. Chris and his “guys” were helpful in this area. As for the price, I can’t comment on his costs because I have nothing to compare it to. I can say, however, that everything looks really, really nice and we are very happy with the results. He’s been responsive anytime we’ve had to call with questions or issues after moving in. Renovations can be stressful but Chris and his people definitely minimized the stress and made the process as painless as possible. Highly recommend.

Chris and his team have done two major projects for us over the past three years. First was a kitchen overhaul that went beautifully. More recently it was a major addition to our house. Both projects were completed with great care and precision and finished more or less on schedule. Chris watches the project very closely and was extremely responsive to us. He also comes to the table with sound advice. The team that he works with are true craftsmen and can be counted on for solving the myriad issues that come up during a project. On top of it all, his prices have always proved to be the best in the market. I highly recommend Renovation One without reservations.

Chris at RenovationOne didn't just add on to our house, he added on to our home. He thought of everything that would be important to our family, even if it wasn't in our architect's plans, and made sure it was executed on professionally, timely, and on budget. He built a master suite, a bedroom/office and an upstairs laundry room above our garage and first floor back room. He and his contractors acted in a professional manner every moment of their time at our house and I trusted everyone on his team. Chris is the the best contractor we have ever worked with to date (and we have done a lot of projects to our fixer upper!).

Chris Barymow of RenovationOne is the quintessential building professional. I had a privilege to work with Chris on few projects, from small remodelings to major renovations. He is thoroughly knowledgeable in all aspects of residential construction, very attentive to details and a great communicator. On a personal level, I find him to be pragmatic, collective, and approachable. The quality of his work and service are hard to beat, not to mention the 2-year warranty which is double the industry standard!

We just completed a renovation with Chris Barymow and Renovation One. I often find when reading negative reviews that it sounds like people have an ax to grind. In this case, I'll simply state the facts. We installed a generator in our house, and Chris told us where it would be located. Unfortunately, his information was incorrect. Had we known this ahead of time, we would have wired it differently so it could be placed elsewhere. Unfortunately, by the time this was discovered, it was too late. He also told us that we would need a separate room for our electrical panels, and built this out, decreasing the size of a bedroom by a few feet. After researching electrical codes, we found this was incorrect also, and all the work needed to be taken down. Lastly, after completing the work, Chris never returned the key to our house. We called and emailed him multiple times and he never returned any call. I finally called him from an unknown number, got him, and he stated he "didn't have time to get back to me" and "thinks he lost the key." I told him I felt he was ignoring me, and he hung up on me. He has refused to take any further calls from me. These are just a few examples of many instances where the process went awry. Those are the facts. Based on his knowledge and behavior, you can choose if you would like to work with him as your contractor.
