Great place to float and enjoy the cold refreshing water! You can bring your own toobs and put in at Prince Solms then float for a few hours to the last free exit and it is only a 10-15 walk back to prince solms!
Love the falls at the park. First time there recently and it is nicely laid out. Always wear a life jacket if your a poor swimmer my daughter is alive today because she wore one. The set up is simple and large. Careful going down the chutes so you don't fall out. Plenty of river bank to rest on and enjoy the weather. Best hours are after 7pm when only the locals come out to play.
We float this river 5-6 times a year. Go spend four or five hours chillin in the water on a hot Texas day, not much better than that. We drive down from Austin, stop for tacos, and get there about 10-10:30. Inflate our tubes R.I.P. Tubey and Floater 2022! And you will be replaced next year, but we had some good times together... and get in the river before it gets scalding. It takes 2 hours-ish depending on the flow, the crowds, and what you do along the way. When you get to the end and get out of that river, it's maybe a 10 minute walk back up to the park highly recommend something for your feet on the walk back, the ground gets HOT . We grab stuff from the cooler in our car, sunscreen up again before we get a 2nd float in. Pack up, stop at Buc-ee's on he way out and grab dinner back in Austin. Parking is $20 all day on their parking app. There is a $2 river free on weekends and holidays which pays for lifeguards, so that's cool. It's cheap fun at its best! I LOVE the COMAL RIVER!
I saw all sorts of underwater fungus plants. It's your choice if you need to jump in. There are better places look out
Come early and bring your patience. Parking is a nightmare but the float is worth it. We park one vehicle here and another at the end of the Public float exit so transport is easy. We paid $2 per person. No military discount and the Wristbands are strictly enforced by the police who are waiting at the inside of the entrance gate. Bring waterproof bags that can be tied down to you or your Tube and Make sure to leave lots of air so if you do lose it, it floats. I saw at least 3 people lose their car keys and cell phones while we floated.
Went with our recovery group.Had the most amazing time. Especially at the tube chute. My daughter went through that thing 3 times and came back more excited each time. Parking isn't that bad. $20.75 for all day. I'd pay it again for the chance to tube along the comal once more. Playground: Although my daughter didn't utilize it, they were nice enough to include a playground. It looked up-to-date and very clean. In a nice, shaded area. Restrooms: Restrooms were very clean. You don't need to supply your own tp, and they had hand soap and hand dryers. Most river parks don't. Dog-friendliness: Definitely dog friendly. Saw a few pets out there. Picnic area: Picnic areas were very nice. We were allowed to bring our own canopies. Very nice and very green, landscaping.
Love tubbing here it's a once or twice a month when I bring the kids to enjoy cold clean river water. Parking can be a problem when it's packed during summer times but the walk and paying for parking is worth floating this river.
Great green area--deer were roaming everywhere!
Will be coming back! Be sure to get there early to avoid the crowds. So nice life jackets were provided in the front entrance of the park
Love this place gets better every time we go. Tubing the river is always great it's clean people here are cool and laid back it's awesome. My family and I hit this place up as often as we can it's summer everyone needs a good cool dip in the water
