If a hospital can be spectacular, this is it. To begin with, when you look through south to west, you see lawns, paths, forests and finally Lake Ontario. It's a beautiful view and can only make the hospital residents feel better. 

On the inside, there are tall spaces coloured in light hues and filled with windows and glass. The signage is also colored to both indicate where you are and the direction to go if you want to go to another area of the hospital.  

This hospital serves several different populations. This includes long term mental health care, complex care, forensics, rehabilitation and palliative care. Common to all of these populations is an apparent attitude from the staff of respect, dignity and compassion.  

The only problem we experienced was parking. There was none to be had and we had to travel next door to Lake Ontario Park to find a place to park.

This "Westwood" Patient Facility was a replacement of the "Rockwood" Asylum and later on it would become a "Providence Care" Corporation providing Mental Health Services.
