This is the old Provo Tabernacle that was lost in a fire

Story

I am in no way an official on the Provo Utah Central City Temple. I am just someone, like you, who is excited about the temple, and can't wait to watch the progression of the temple, every step of the way.

Beautiful temple, feels like a genuine pioneer era temple. The reconstruction of the old Provo Tabernacle into a Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a remarkable feat of engineering. As you participate in the Holy ordinances here, you can feel the spirit of past generations of faith with you as you engage in the work of salvation. A wonderful House of the Lord and the second one in the city of Provo. Definitely stop by and enjoy the Spirit on the grounds.

Super nice to come, walk around the grounds and look at the gorgeous flower arrangement, sit in the gazebo and read, and especially go inside and worship. For non-recommend holding Latter-Day Saints, you can still sit in the waiting room downstairs, entered in from the parking garage (which is gorgeously decorated and gives you an idea of the beauty of the inside). The visitor centers are nice for visiting and asking questions or just pondering in quietness. Wearing nicer, church clothes always adds a little reference to the spirit, but when you're outside only, it is not a requirement.

The landscaping is phenomenal and it is one of the most beautiful places in Provo. The grounds are open to everyone but the interior of the temple is only open to members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There is underground parking accessible from the street south of the temple, and it’s wheelchair accessible on that level. It was built from the original Provo tabernacle after it burned down roughly 7 years ago. The structure was phenomenally preserved using some amazing engineering, and in the process they reverted it back to its original structure (which was with the center point. As a tabernacle this has to be removed to meet building code as the wood structure wasn’t sturdy enough to maintain the weight)

Beautiful building with much pain staking detail of the exterior and interior. Once was a tabernacle or meeting place but has been restored and enhanced. A parking garage is beneath it but may fill up especially on weekends. Entrance beyond front desk is exclusive to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The building is considered sacred to the church. Anyone is welcome to walk the grounds and watch families having pictures taken before and after wedding ceremonies outside.

I love it here. It is a great privilege to serve the Lord in His house here on Earth. What a pleasure it is to assist patrons as they enter the temple to make sacred covenants with the Lord Jesus Christ. If you can come to the temple, do so. If you can't, do all in your power to become worthy to gain these eternal blessings and come closer to the Lord and feel his Holy Spirit.
