The biggest issue with their installation of the system is that they moved the waste drain fitting from the proper location before the trap, to one after the trap in the drain system. I have no idea why they did this as the initial placement was picture perfect and up to code. At least they capped the old saddle fitting. The other issue is that on bot ends of the final stage filter, they applied what looks like a few dozen wraps of plumbers tape. Not a few wraps, but a few dozen. It was so thick that the entire mass was soft and pliable. When disassembled, there was a trace of tape on the threads. There was also no tape on the main inlet valve they installed (A small 1/4" valve that feeds only the filter unit) and the fitting and valve threads were severely corroded. Aside from being non-standard with any RO filter system, the threads were corroded to the point where they could not be used. Even though the holding tank was old, 2/3 of the bottom feet were severely corroded also. Not sure if the old owners had the lifetime system service or if the tank would be covered in the state it was in, but overall I would not keep going back to this company for service. Also, on the inlet tubing there were 3 splices where there were obvious cuts/leaks. Why they installed a valve and 2 unions instead of one cheap 3 foot length of tube is beyond me. The company will complain that I am not a customer, yet they STILL send mail telling me to have them come out and service the rusty system.
