Val is the most lovely, aware, caring, and professional business owner, and esthetician I have ever met. I received a "surprise" facial gift certificate from a client ten years ago, and have been addicted to Purevana ever since. Once you enter Purevana Skincare in Mill Valley, you are instantly transported into a calm, protected, non judgmental space. You will feel at home and cared for by all of the lovely ladies who are lucky enough to work for the owner and head esthetician, Valerie Marzano. Val has made me a more confident person as I age, and as I feel less attractive. She has made my skin sing... and I am not exaggerating at all. The products are top of the line, and actually give results. They have been researched by Valerie, and she knows each products ingredients and purpose in depth. I felt no pressure to buy anything. If you ask Val, or another esthetician, they will suggest only what you need-without “up selling” like most salons/spas seem to sometimes do. They have a great selection of candles (the best smelling combinations I have ever found, and at a fair price point) and make up, along with all the skin products. You would be doing a huge service to yourself to make an appointment with Val, Meg, Darcie or Tia. They are all extremely devoted, and talented. You can tell they love what they do, and where they work by the energy you feel when you are at Purevana. I don't usually write reviews, but felt it was necessary, since going to Purevana and using their products has literally changed the way I look. I tell you people- men and women- THIS is THE place to go for an amazing facial or micro current treatment. I just received my sixth micro current session from Tia, and I can’t wait to go back for my next appointment. She also gives the best shoulder massage ever! You will walk away feeling younger, fresher, and all around HAPPIER that you made the choice to go to Purevana Skincare. Thank you Valerie, Tia, and all the gals at Purevava for making it easier for me to look in the mirror each morning. I feel like I owe you so much. Libby

Beautiful scents, warm lighting and friendly faces. I love Purevana and all of the ladies working there. I have been going to Purevana for years, primarily seeing Valerie, but I’ve seen other esthetitions as well including Tia for microcurrent. Valerie has repeatedly given me the best facials I’ve ever had, and greatly helped with my hyper pigmentation issues. I live in the east bay and I make the trek all the way to Marin to see her. I’ve found since seeing Valerie, I can’t see anyone else. She has years of experience and a great knowledge of product lines. Skincare is not cheap & it really makes a difference when someone can recommend products that are effective and beneficial for my particular skin care needs. I also began seeing Tia for microcurrent about one year ago. I’m quickly approaching 40 and looking for natural ways to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of aging. Her work is seriously amazing and has really helped give my skin some lift without having to dip into Botox, injections and fillers. Not to knock the latter but if you are not into using these products, microcurrent under a qualified and professional aesthetician is a wonderful alternative. P.S. Don’t be afraid of the other reviewers comments on throwing up after a treatment.. I’ve never felt even remotely nauseous or sick and find it extremely unlikely that this has anything to do with the aesthetician. I suppose some people feel the need to always blame others for their own issues. Purevana is a treat from the moment you pull into the driveway and observe all of the beautiful succulents, to walking in the door and becoming engulfed in the subtle smells of candles, oils and other amazing products. Purevana is warm, friendly, cozy and by far my favorite skin spa in the bay. Give yourself or loved one a treat and book a service today!

The Esthetician I had complained the entire time about her dog, her life, her neighbor and her financial situation. I was very disappointed in my treatment with Tia. She was very intense, not relaxing and she talked and talked and talked the entire time. I didn't want to be rude but I almost asked her if she was still paying attention. I want to try somewhere else. Maybe another place will have to employees more focused on treatments

I went in for the microcurrent firming facial..the technician Tia was in such as rush that when I said I was feeling drowsy and nauseated she stated she was almost finished and to wait a little longer. Needless to say I threw up later at work. Who knew microcurrent could cause this? Thanks for the warning Tia.

You will be in for a delightful treat when you receive a facial from Purevana Skincare. The ambience is amazing, the products used are top of the line, not crap that many places get away with. The attention received is worth every penny and more. Hard to get in because of how popular they are, so make an appointment asap!
