We enjoyed the campground very much. Very clean flush toilets/showers. Which were placed well throughout the campground. Nice cut through that connected area 2 & 3. Very friendly and helpful staff. Premium sites are definately worth the extra $2.

My family has been visiting this park for 30 years. Its a great place to bring the family and your closest friends together.

Compared to some of the other state parks in ohio, this park is meh. Facilities need a major overhaul. Bathrooms often need cleaning in the middle of the week; however, Friday through Sunday they are OK. Playground is small and dated. Beach is small and needs some work. No hiking trails, but there are some places to get into the woods across a river that flows into the lake at the bottom of the South loop. Big box stores are too far away, but some smaller stores are 5 to 10 mins away. Camphosts keep to themselves and at times some of them wave. The spirit of the place seems a little broken, unlike the last couple of years. Others who have visited since childhood have voiced the same sentiment. The park ranger; so I have heard, never gives a warning; just tickets, nor does he wave or try to make any friendly casual conversation-at least to me. On the flip side, Connie is super friendly and very accommodating, but she doesn't always work at the campstore, like she used too. We've been coming to Pymatuning campground for the last 3 years. Unfortunately it is not as laid back as it used to be. Probably will return as my son likes playing with all the other children. This year my experience at Pymatuning was 2 out of 5. In the past 5 out 5.

DO NOT DO Not book anything with this park. I booked a cabin on 7/26/17 canceled on 7/28/17 because my friends got called into work. 24 hours later and they charged my card 80.64 for cancellation fee. The total was 153.64. WARNING do NOT BOOK with them UNBELIEVABLE.

Apparently you're not allowed to spray salt, Dawn dish soap, white vinegar and water on poison ivy on your lot at a state park . Even though there's nothing in the rules that say that or anything like that . U are issue the rules at the time of check-in. When the park officer arrived at my camp sit and told me that I was not permitted to spray poison ivy . I told him I didn't know I wasn't allowed to do that and I won't do it again . He proceeded to go on and tell me that I needed a special permit and special training to spray that stuff in a state park and that I was destroying property this carries $145 fine . I asked him since I didn't know if I could have a warning. He said No and issued me a citation and i have to appear in court. When he was reading me my citation . There was so much stuff in it . apparently you're not even allowed to pick up Kiln or broken limbs off the ground you're not allowed to pick a blade of grass etc. but he told us they never enforce that. So i'm confused what is it ? Is it a rule or don't u force it? confused!!! Not to mention the cops are not preventing all the speeding dangers, but patrolling the wheels in grass- because they pick and choose what rules to enforce.
