Overall we were happy. The location is absolutely perfect to walk to anything downtown. Main issue was with the noise levels. The walls were paper thin- truly the worst I've ever experienced. Not only could we hear every word from our neighbors, but we heard every footstep of anyone who walked past. Lobby, rooms, and most common areas are renovated and very nice, but the halls are still very dated. Breakfast was great. Again, overall it was very nice but we did have problems due to the noise.

First of all the customer service is really good we were able to communicate extremely well with the front desk. The room is a little bit too narrow for the desk. You cannot sit at the desk and walk by Between the chair and the bed. It is probably one of the better places in town though price is extremely reasonable.
 
Not that it bothered us but they do have wooden floors and you can hear the people walking on the floor above you.

The breakfast was very good very satisfied and there is always hot cookies and coffee in the reception area.

Very nice pool area and very well maintained with a sauna.
Would definitely come back here and stay again.

Had a wonderful time at this family friendly hotel. The pool was amazing, the breakfast was delicious. Staff very friendly and Rooms are very clean. Did a tour of the mines of the area And recommend this place. Great view of the Houghton drawbridge, Very quiet place even though it’s right downtown.

The hotel's front/facade is just that- a facade (the new facade is white and bright). It is a hot and stuffy enclosed walkway to the rooms' doors. This walkway renders the windows/view useless. Once in room, one would feel the need to close the curtains, so others aren't looking in your room, which makes the  room feel even MORE dark and drab! Bathroom was updated, so it feels clean, but room in general has zero appeal.
It's  definitely a "sleep and eat" hotel. Luckily the geographical area is soo beautiful that it makes up for what the rooms lack.
Cookies and coffee, etc. In the lobby. Helpful/friendly staff and housekeeping. 
Gave the rating 1-2 stars for appeal, but staff would get 5.

I will never again stay in this hotel. I have never had problems with Quality Inn & Suites before, after a 10 hour drive with my husband, we checked into a room at about 4 am. Upon arriving in our room there was dog hair all over the floor, the cable didn't work, and the room was hot and stuffy. It didn't feel or smell clean at all. We checked out at 10 am and went on our way. The following day we had a charge on our card for $250, when we called and asked why they told us it smelled like smoke. Neither me nor my husband smoke so we were completely baffled. The person on the phone couldn't give us a refund, we waited a week and a half for the manager to get back from vacation who told us he would not refund it because the room smelled like smoke for 2 days. Again, we were left completely baffled. So our 6 hour, unenjoyable stay is costing us almost $400. That room wasn't even worth $100 because it was so gross. I'm wondering if they even cleaned the room after the last guest stayed, maybe that's why they thought we left the smoke smell.
