About

Largest co-op gallery in the United States with three floors of local art.

Story

Founded in 1973, Quayside Gallery is one of the oldest and largest member-owned art galleries in the United States. It was constructed in 1878 as the Germania Steam Fire Engine and Hose Company.

All exhibiting artists are juried into the gallery under stringent standards.

We feature new art shows every month on our main level and our artists are constantly showing new work throughout the remainder of the gallery.

Art workshops are periodically sponsored for members and the public.

Top notch gallery. It's free to go in and just a look around, and there's a lot of nice artwork to look at! The first floor galleries are always nicely setup, and have a wide variety of styles, sizes, and prices. The 2nd and 3rd floors all have individual artists bins and walls to browse through. It's also cool that building is old, historic firestation. Desk workers were super friendly, and they're all artists who display there. Overall, highly recommend, even if you're not in market for a new piece of work, great place to visit while walking through downtown Pensacola!

I give this little gallery five stars for what it is, and don't detract for what it isn't. It's not a place for world-famous fine art, so don't expect that. It's a decent sized gallery for exhibiting the work of local artists. Mostly paintings, and of those mostly landscapes. There are other things too, such as sculptures, pottery, tapestries, and photography. It's fun to look at and find the gems. It's free, so we took the kids and they had fun. Someone was in the ground floor front wing painting a portrait and the kids really liked watching the artist at work. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Everything is for sale, and I guess it's sort of a co-op where the artists help fund the place and in turn get to display (and sell) their works. Again, it's not the Louvre, it's a fun place to look at and find local, buyable art and doesn't cost you anything to look around. Three floors of stuff, so plenty to look at. Enjoy it!
