I've been going to Queens for over 5yrs.,I've never been disappointed. My hair has grown while going there the owner and the young ladies that call her Auntie are courteous, kind and professional. The shop is neat and clean. I would and have recommended Queens African Hair Braids.

The ladies were nice and made sure I got exactly what I wanted (however, the braids were a little longer than I wanted but done well enough for me not to be upset). They were fast and efficient.  My box braids look so neat and, while tight, are virtually painless. Great price too. This was my first time getting braids in Philly and I'm glad I found this place.  Will return/ recommend to others.

After reading all of the positive reviews I expected excellent service and beautiful braids.  I made an appointment for micros. When I showed up it was evident that the person assigned to me - the owner, I believe  -  wanted no part of a micros job.  She tried to persuade me to do some other style that would be easier for her and not require as much time.  But I was insistent that I wanted micros done.  

When she began the process, her braids looked good. They were small. But the more time passed the bigger the braids became.  Also she decided she wasn't going to braid all the way down to the end of my hair.   Rather she braided an inch in and tied the braid off. Note this would work if my hair was relaxed, but it was natural. And my hair is long. So by the time she reached the front I had these enormously thick braids that were braided an inch in with a huge poof after that.  It was awful. 

 I didn't see the finished product until I went to my car.  I should have known it was bad considering the strange looks I was getting from the other women in the shop.  Ultimately I had to have all the braids removed and redone. Yes it was that bad.  I couldn't salvage it. 

I won't be coming back. I want to be clear.  There were some positives.  They were great about making sure my car had enough money at the meter.  The braids weren't tight at all. And the people were pleasant enough.  I did see others - not micros- walk out with beautiful braids.  So if micros are what you are looking for PLEASE DON'T COME HERE.  You will regret it.  But if you are thinking of a different style, maybe.  I won't be coming back for any style braids.

The women are so incredible nice and professional. They're always checking to make sure you're ok, if the braids are too tight, etc. for the first time since I started braiding my hair, I was able to sleep comfortably, with no headaches, no scalp bumps, etc. I would recommend this place to anyone. I was in and out in less than 6 hours for box braids, waist length, braided to the ends.

I made an appointment to get a sew in with a closure. I arrived with my hair & the owner refused to install it with an obnoxious attitude because she didn't like the color. Rude, unprofessional service. Waste of time. But there are other braiding salons nearby so try them!
