We were with a private party, and this place ROCKS! The food was great, staff was friendly and SO accommodating.  Go, see, relax, and revel in some great Texas history. The guitarist/singer was so good and amazingly versatile!

An oasis in the desert and a very good oasis at that. My wife and I have a home in Independence and it's such a pleasure heading to R Place for a Saturday dinner after working a long day. Randy, his wife and their waitress are the best and food is great!

Dos equis on tap and good selection for beer. Full bar as well.  Pork chops thatbwere destined for the grill looked great.

Read about this place on my google maps app.  Walked in at 1230 on a Sunday morning my wife and I were the only ones in the place. was greeted by the owner who is a jack of all trades( chef, bar tender, historian.) we had a chicken salad sandwich, sausage sandwich,  German potato salad, the Mac and cheese and two teas.. All was very good and well worth the 23 bucks... we talk to the owner of the entire time who treat us like old friends.. had good conversation a good meal and a history lesson to boot.. stop by this place is even if you're not going to Washington on the Brazos. it's always the little back road joints that end up being some of the best places to eat!
