The Rachel Carson Homestead is the birthplace and childhood home of Rachel Carson. This remarkable writer, scientist and ecologist was born of modest means on May 27, 1907 on this 65-acre family farm in Springdale, Pennsylvania.
To preserve and restore this National Register historic site and to offer education programs which advance Rachel Carson's environmental ethic.
