Took my best friend here for a unique experience. Much more fun than I anticipated. Very organized employees from beginning to end. The swans were fairly easy to paddle and the view at night was quaint. Though I am a bit older I felt comfortable amongst the teenagers and/or younger adults on dates, a drive inn theater of modern times. Would recommend, thank you !
It’s a small lagoon where you can rent paddle boats and go around. You used to be able to walk onto the islands across bridges, but the bridges were torn down to fit the new swan boats. The cement retaining wall is falling apart in some places. The water is mostly clean looking, so that’s a plus. Overall, it’s not a destination but a place to chill if you happen to be in the area.
Nice area to see, stroll and float about! Right next to the Hyatt Hotel, it’s easily accessible from Shoreline Village, across E. Shoreline Drive. Great place to take the kids and honey’s for a little swan boat ride! It’s also enjoyable to take in along the walk around the odd shaped pond. It can be a break from convention business to throw down a blanket on the grass, have a picnic and relax in the ocean air! The small park and pond are not part of the Hyatt Hotel, contrary to its guest list, as some regular visitors here are likely listed with the Social Services Department. Here in the presence of the hotel and the Convention Center, there’s security guards and surveillance, as well as patrols of peace officers, so everybody seems to get along! There’s a boat rental office located by the north end of the Shoreline Drive pedestrian bridge.
Beautiful park , great for families. They had a festival today. Also, the “Bird Man” is a must do!!!!
Haven't experienced the swan paddle boats yet, but it looks like a great time and very affordable!
Cool little lake but sketchy people. Swan boats available upon online reservation. Across the street from the Shoreline Village.
The pedestrian bright next to the convention center is a great place to appreciate the lagoon!
It was an event there for a Mexican celebration called Dia de los Muertos. I was really fun a there was a lot of Mexican food around the park.
An interesting park in downtown Long Beach. A bike path runs along the south side of the lagoon. There is also an area of grass on the east side of the park. Look for the fish in the early morning. They break up into two different schools and then swim the edge of the lagoon in opposite directions. The fish form one school when the two schools meet.
Rainbow Lagoon is a place where I like to come and have alone time. The lagoon has paddle boat swans that are big enough to fit two people. There is a fee charged before boarding . The lagoon has a walking path . Also has benches and somewhat trees and grass area for a little shade if you want to lay down .
