I can't understand why this Ralphs would get bad reviews. The cashiers go out of their way to talk to me and the Pharmacists really care. Everyone is courteous and friendly.

This Ralphs store provides horrible non-smile service, slow and poor trained cashier, and a rude assistant manager who couldn't even make an reasonable apology to customer when she made mistakes. It's the perfect combination for an unpleasant shopping experience. I would rather go to the Sea Place Supermarket or Stater Bros for all my shopping needs even if it takes another extra 8 minutes drive. 
 
Since the economy is so bad now, I was wondering how come those unpleasant staff could still secure their job with their poor performance while thousands of people are out there jobless and waiting for an opportunity?

This Ralphs is closer to where I live, but I only go there when I'm really short on time.  I prefer to go to the Ralphs on La Palma Ave in La Palma.

The Ralphs on South St has poor customer service (from one of the managers).  He gave me lip service to get out of moving a pallet so that I could see if they had any frozen salmon.  Other times over the last several months only 1-2 checking lanes have been open and the lines were very long.  Also since they changed the store layout a lot of the choices have disappeared to make room for non-food items.
