Ramsey Park

Story

At 219 acres in size, Alexander Ramsey Park is the largest municipal park in the State of Minnesota. Termed as the “Little Yellowstone of Minnesota”, the park is enhanced by 1930′s Civilian Conservation Corps shelters and bridges and picturesque Ramsey Falls. The park serves as a focal point for community events, festivals and summer activities and features campground facilities, shelter houses, four miles of paved hiking trails, a DNR trout stream, scenic overlooks, and a zoo.

Very beautiful park. I would advise against camping multiple nights due to incompetence from park ranger staff, especially if you reserve sites months in advance. They will give away sites if they are open, even if you have them reserved. Zoo is nice. Beautiful pathways and places to explore. Lots of shelters to rent for events. If it wasn't for the camping situation, I would have rated it five stars.

Absolutely stunning park with trails, suspension bridge and waterfall. Scenic and perfect for summer outing. I believe there is a small zoo and camping facilities too. Minnesota's largest municipal park, yet lots to do there.
