MONDAY NIGHTS starting at 7:30
Going steady for 15 years now, come join us every Monday night at the intersection of Pump and Patterson roads.
Open Mic at Rare Olde Times provides a warm and friendly atmosphere in which you may play whatever songs your heart urges you to. We're a diverse crew that welcomes a variety of musical styles.
Sign-up board goes up at 6:30, but we recommend getting there a lil early to make sure you get a good spot! We set aside slots 3 and 6 for newcomers who have never played before.
Most sign up to perform music, for which the standard limit is three songs. But all forms of public performance are welcomed, such as theatrical excerpts, poetry, or Inuit throat singing. We shoot for somewhere around 15-17 minutes apiece, including any setup.
Bring your instrument and we will provide proper hook-ups, mics and amplification. There's a bass amp available. Electric guitars often run through the board, as we don't provide a guitar amp. Some bring a small guitar amp of their own, but the setup time is a negative aspect, as we don't have room on the stage to store extra equipment before the performance. There are no drums provided either, so, similarly, the setup time can eat away your time, but, if you're up for it, we are too.
So come experience the good craic that is Rare Olde Times Open Mic! And if you order a Smithwick's, make sure you pronounce it right or else you might get some dirty looks LOL JK KINDA.
See you there!
