I am very disappointed on how this visit went much less the disrespect from the doctor and some of her staff, called her 3 time for a week even her being the on call doctor to no return call that's bad I don't feel like she cares at all. Would never recommend her. When your sick you try to put all your trust in the doctor and they try to convince you you have something you don't have, WOW!!!!!

Just arrived home from a traumatic final visit at Dr. Raypudi's office. I have been seeing her for treatment of Lyme and multiple other tick borne co-infections; I have fewer positive bands than CDC standards require, but between the co-infections, her experience working with Lyme up in northern states, and the fact that I've spent 4 years hopping between specialty doctors ruling everything else out, she agreed that I had Lyme and started treatment. Two weeks into ineffective oral Doxycycline, she told me she wanted to have a picc line put in. I asked to continue on the Doxy for two more weeks, as that seemed far too soon to do something somewhat invasive. After two more weeks and her insistence that there weren't any other options, I had the picc line put in and began taking Rocephin. No change for a couple of weeks, and then suddenly after a visit with her I became sicker than normal and feared that something may have been wrong with my picc. She had not informed me that she had doubled my dose of Rocephin. I let it slide, as it seemed the medication was finally working. The herxing has continued for ~5-6 weeks and today's visit was supposed to be a routine weekly visit to make sure my blood tests were coming back normal. My mother, who has been acting as my unofficial patient advocate and driving me to and from appointments, decided to go run errands -because- we had been led to believe this was a routine visit. What I got instead was Dr. Rayapudi's NP coming in late and, when I told her I felt the same as I have for the past few weeks, she insisted that we stop all treatment, that she had spoken to Dr. Rayapudi and suddenly neither believed I actually had Lyme, and that she would need to pull the picc out before I left the office. I was due for a CT scan in 5 minutes in another building. I asked if there was any possibility I could keep the picc in for a different doctor -- she said no. I asked if I could keep the picc in for the CT scan so they could forego using an IV -- she said no. I asked if there was any other treatment plan for me at Dr. Rayapudi's office -- she said no. I was crying and having a panic attack and was coerced into having the picc removed against my wishes. Then, adding insult to injury, she told me I should find a chronic illness counselor in my area because I was "never happy" when she saw me, as though being dropped by doctor after doctor, in this case forcibly and against my will, for years while being so sick I can hardly function isn't the reason I'm "never happy" when I go to a doctor's office. The radiologists were shocked that the NP hadn't at least let me keep the picc in for the CT scan. They made it clear that, had she been willing, all it would take was an order from her to have it removed by someone qualified to do so after the scan. My mother went back to the office, spoke with the NP, and was given multiple excuses about how she had given me chances to say no (she had not and yet I did, multiple times, to the point of bargaining) and that she thought we were on the same page that I was to stop treatment this week if things had not improved (we were not, which my mother confirmed). She offered a chance for us to speak to Dr. Rayapudi tomorrow, which I refuse if she is so quick to drop patients without warning or make any kind of follow-up appointment to make sure symptoms don't return. They obviously don't want me to go back to their office, so I won't. If you have Lyme and think you can be treated in ~6-8 weeks, great! She's more affordable than an LLMD. However, make sure you're kept up-to-date on any changes to your treatment and go in knowing you could be dropped at a moment's notice for being difficult to treat. If you think you might require higher dosages, rotation of medication, and multiple on-and-off-med cycles to kill off tick borne bacteria...look elsewhere. Contact a Lyme advocacy group and ask for local LLMDs. Lyme treatment is not cheap, but in my experience some LLMDs are more willing to help with high costs than others and are worth it in the end.

Dr. Rauapudi Amanda I met for the first time today. She is very good at listening to her patients and won an award for being the nation's most compassionate doctor on 2011. I look forward to working with her.

The physician and her staff do their best to give a patient all the time in the world. Never seen an environment so relaxed instead of rushed. Dr. Rayapudi is knowledgeable, kind and caring, as is her stuff. Hat's off to Tameeka, Kate, Sharon, Esther, and everyone else. The first doctor who actually treated my wife's condition. Immensely grateful. Thanks!
