The lady that worked here is SUPER nice. We have traveled 20,000 miles across the US to many campsites and most places don’t respond after 5-6. This lady followed up and was available until 10 at night. She helped make room for us on one of the busiest weekends Ole Miss vs Alabama. The campground is decent, the only real knock is the bathhouses are very small. That said, it saved us from paying $400 a night for a hotel or driving in an hour from Memphis, as the campground is only 13 miles from campus.
Rebel RV Park has been a tremendous blessing to us. Liz, the site manager as well as Chris and his wife, the camp hosts, go above and beyond to meet the needs of the campers. We needed extra storage for our trailers; they accommodated. We discovered we had run out of propane on a particularly cold night; they met us right away and filled our tanks. If we ever travel this way again this would be the only place I would stay. No RV park is perfect but they sure try their best to make it that way!
Quiet, no disturbances from other visitors. Spots are narrow with very little wiggle room. Full hookups. Wifi also.
Great place to stay with friendly customer service and nice folks managing the park. Established park with WiFi, good lighting, and trees.
Rebel RV is located right off of highway 6 in between Oxford, MS and Batesville, MS. Many of the RVer's are longer term, but they have a specific space available for short term and overnighters. The park is primarily gravel with some small grassy areas in between the spots. Many of the spots are pull through - both in the longer term areas and short term. There is plenty of green area for walking dogs, areas where children can play ball, or run. If you have older children, there is a paintball facility at the front of the park. I have stayed at the park twice, once in the summer for a month, and once in the winter for a month. Both times, the RVer's staying around me have introduced themselves and volunteered to help me if I had any issues. The management staff is wonderful, available, and attends to any problems immediately. It is not a park with the beautiful scenery of a state or federal park, but the convenience, levelness of the lots, ability to stay for more than 2 weeks without moving, space between RV's, is certainly a plus! I have always felt safe there any time of the day. The park is consistently clean and well cared for. I recommend Rebel RV park.
We left Texas the first of June and spent four months in Maine for the cooler weather. So from Texas to Maine and back to Texas we stayed in twelve RV parks. Some KOA's, some individually owned. In ranking all twelve the Rebal RV park would be at the bottom. The Rebel rv park sign is easy to miss as it was faded and mixed in amongst other signs in front of auto repair shop. The entry road is rough. We knew ahead of our arrival which slot we were assigned so didn't need to go by the office. We drove passed what appeared in be abandoned construction equipment, cars, travel trailers and a boat to get to a gravel parking lot with hook ups. The gravel was river rock which will not compact therefore walking was tricky. No amenities as concrete pads, picnic tables or fire rings at each site. Since we were there only one night we managed. We did not use the available restrooms/showers however another patron told us that they were filthy. Hopefully they will improve but doubtful we will stay again.
Would stay again in a pinch or if park improves. Really needs someone to come through with a dozer to grade and compact the gravel, then finish the hookups areas between spots. ***Ground conditions are one of the top things RVers are looking for.*** PROS: +Full hookups. Solid electric. +Convenient to highway but over 10 miles from interstate. +Convenient to outdoor recreation area across highway. +Looked like showerhouse, laundromat, firewood and propane were available. +Gal on phone operates multiple locations. Friendly, informative, good with communication and answers the phone promptly. +Quiet stay. No one bothering anybody. Just a bit of occassional traffic noise. +Grassy area perpendicular to lots with a picnic table available. Maybe a fire ring there? CONS: -Price. Too expensive for the area and double on "game nights". For the price it should be paved or compacted crushed limestone. -Water spigots set too low to the ground not an easy hookup. -Abandoned semi trailer in the brush alongside the paid spots. Couple campers look abandoned as well that are parked along the edge of paid lots. Should remove them or park in the far back lined up so it looks like they're supposed to be there. -Lack of ambience. No landscaping or effort made to finish the lots. It looks like contractors put in the hookups and someone hastily dumped down river rock gravel but no one graded anything. Multiple tripping hazards and poorly executed look of install. Lots are not defined areas. -Unlevel lots with slippery round river rock that squishes forming trenches and mounds. -No clear signage of where the overnight lots are located or welcoming signage. -Not well lit for the "overnight" area.
This is a “young” campground; give it some time and it will be awesome. Bathrooms/showers clean, but could use hooks to hang clothes or a bench. Quite park, owner “Bobby” provided excellent communication through entire process with reservation and locating park in the dark on New Years Eve! Great job and keep at it!
The park is very clean. Nice laundry room and a couple of toilet/shower rooms. Sites are gravel and well graded with azaleas, box wood plants and newly planted trees. Numerous sites. A bit back from the road which is nice. Will definitely return next year. Host is a great guy! The entry off the highway is a bit rough as well as the driveway to the park but it us only 15 mins from Oxford-a great place!
Oh what I can say about Rebel RV park. We were visiting family in the area. Some family lived in Coffeeville and some family lived in Oxford so this seemed like a good middle ground. This park could be so much more then it is. It has the potential and location to be a really nice park, especially for people visiting or bringing kids to Ole Miss. But really it's just a big gravel field with hook ups. Don't misunderstand, we had 50 amp service and it worked great. We are in a 40 foot fifth wheel and we found a good spot and we had no problems at all. But there is no one there in an office. The garbage dumpster was overflowing and the grass weeds needed cut. There are alot of full time people in this park. And it is tricky to find because you have to drive through a auto body shop parking lot to find it. With just a little maintenance and some TLC this place could be really cool, especially since there is not alot in the area. But perhaps they know this and figure they don't need to make it better. Too bad. It ain't pretty but it worked. Sigh.
