October 7, 2022...The atmosphere of the restaurant is really pretty great...we were not impressed with the smoked chicken nachos. The chips were a little hard and the chicken was a bit dry. Our entrees were beautifully presented and for the most part were tasty.  *** After John returned my call we had a great conversation on how they are going to revamp their nachos and he suggested for us to come back and he offered to make it right  ****Ya'll today, Oct 11, 2022  the food was FANTASTIC!  We started with the stuffed mushroom appetizer and the flavor was delicious and the mushrooms were not mushy...then the bacon wrapped shrimp with their special sauce was out-of-this world yummy! Then came the big fresh salad with bits of fried chicken and honey mustard dressing that the hubby enjoyed immensely.  My crunch burger was quite tasty especially with the seasoned fries. But best of all is the manager John and how he really cares about the customers and the food he and his staff prepare  Dietary restrictions: Keto friendly menu

We enjoyed this great Cafe! Our server was sweet but a little stretched. She didn't seem to really know about items on the menu or offer suggestions when we asked. The salad was great. The house made chips were good. The burger was a little above average and the salmon was a little above average.  It was all good but not great other than the salad and the dressings. Definitely make a reservation if you can.

Excellent food and atmosphere. The pork chops were good. But the burgers were the best entry on the menu. Be sure to try the homemade chips and save room for the carrot cake for desert. You will not be disappointed!

Wonderful ambiance, met with a friendly hello. I ordered the Maple Pork Chops with smashed potatoes, it came with a salad of romaine, iceberg lettuce, croutons, cheese, tomato, and the sweet onion house dressing, along with 2 big pieces of garlic toast. Absolutely devine, the chops were tender and full of flavor. The potatoes were loaded with green onion, cheese and bacon. The service was excellent,  too much food for one sitting, and $$.

Yum!  I had the tenderloin sandwich with fries and it was delicious!  They also had a very nice peach cider.  Service was quick, pleasant and efficient.  The atmosphere has a nice upscale feel.  Recommend

This was our first time at the Red Onion , I will tell you it was amazing.  The atmosphere was so nice, the staff was super friendly.  The food was off the chain.  And desert was so great I wanted to have a whole cheesecake.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesCurbside pickup: Yes

Really enjoyed the food, salads, fish and chicken were extremely good. The food was only second to the superb service. I later learned my parents have been going there for years and they have had the same experience.Recommended dishesGrilled Salmon

Long standing local favorite in the Joplin area! Known for its pasta dishes and a great dessert selection, but I’m a huge fan of The Metro, which is a filet in a cream sauce. To die for! Great basic beer and wine menu as well.

Can't believe I waited so long to eat here, I have been missing out! The food is amazing and the prices aren't as bad as I thought they would be. It appears fancy and upper class but it is affordable for us regular folks, on a nice date night. The building itself is beautiful! I love these old places and they have preserved that beauty quite well.

OMG!!! I need this cafe in my town!!! The dood was superb! The wait staff awesome!! I would be there every day if it was local to me. I had the Coconut Chicken dinner. The breaded was light and crunchy! Perfection. The strawberry cheesecake was so creamy and rich. Divine!
