Red's Fly Shop is the premier outfitter and retail fly shop in the Pacific Northwest. Our fly shop and lodge sit riverside in the heart of the Yakima River Canyon, the most famous section on the only Blue Ribbon trout river in Washington state. We offer guided fly fishing trips on the Yakima, Klickitat, Methow, Naches, and Wenatchee Rivers along with a broad variety of other destinations. We also have one of the country's most comprehensive fly fishing schools titled, Red's University of Fly Fishing. I have placed multiple orders from Reds.   While I have always been satisfied with the quality of their products, their customer service could use some improvement.  Specifically, when I called on a couple of occasions to talk briefly with the staff regarding the use of the products it really seemed as if they had little to no time for me.  Customer service is the core of a small business.  I hope that I do not again encounter this problem at Reds.

The Good: beautiful river, fly shop and lodge

The Bad: VERY slow fishing – only caught two fish both under 10 inches on a full day float – this included several hours where the guide was also fishing independently and didn't catch anything

The Ugly: rude and unresponsive management made a poor day of fishing notable enough to compel me to take the time to write this comment (the first time i have ever taken the time to comment on anything ever!).

Summary: I would not recommend spending any real travel time to get to this river - there are much better spots in this and other adjoining  states - but if for some unfortunate reason you have to fish this river, I would highly recommend finding another guide service to take you out

Beautiful trip despite some slow fishing.  However, the guide we booked through Red's had his car broken into while we were on our float, stealing a bunch of our stuff.  Red's didn't seem too concerned about it and offered a 10% discount at their shop.  FAIL

An exceptional shop with a very knowledgeable staff.  I purchased three Burkheimer rods through Joe Rotter over the past year.  I love the rods, Joe and Craig couldn't have taken better care of me.

Even though I was not a client at Red's these guys saved me!  After an evening fishing on the Yakima I got sloppy and left my wadding boots on the side of the road as I left to drive back to Seattle.  The next morning I got in touch with Red's and they were able to grab them and ship them back to me. They took great care of me even though I was not a client and I can only imagine how well they take care of those they work with.  Can't thank them enough!
