Lobed our suite for the weekend. Very large and secluded. Bath room could use an upgrade on a couple of things. The overall experience was great and we'll worth it. Breakfast was good both mornings with a story about the house from the host.
 Very interesting story about the copper family.

A beautiful old house, steeped in history. Some quirks that come with the age of the building are easy to ignore. Thanks to Robert for being a kind and welcoming host!

We loved the period decor, and the location was good for most of what we wanted to do in Dubuque. The breakfast was great, the bed comfortable, and the staff friendly.  However, this facility is in desperate need of updating and maintenance.  There were bits of the plaster ceiling missing in the dining room, the bathroom in our room had peeling caulk, paint, and wallpaper, and the vent fan and bathroom heat lamp did not work.  The hinges on all the doors squeak, and some of the rugs are a bit threadbare.  Like I said, this could be a fascinating old period building, but with lots of work.

COCKROACHES!! Me and my fiancé were in town for our anniversary and were very excited about our two night stay because of the pictures and good reviews. With in hours of being in our room, I found a cockroach running across the floor! I caught it and called the owner. He denied that it was a roach and said he had to "verify" it...but that he couldn't verify it that night because it was too late (9:15 at night). We asked for a refund in which he denied. The conversation got heated and I couldn't get a word in without him yelling over me. We left without a refund and have now contacted the BBB. Unacceptably dirty and very unprofessional service. STEER CLEAR!!!

This B & B was all i expected and more .Redstone is an excellent display of yester year the building is awesome full of detail and artifacts from the past.The staff ls very friendly and knowledgeable of this place history.The breaskfast was wonderful and plentiful my wife and i plan on making another visit to explore more of Dubuque while staying at the Redstone B&B.
