I went to deposit my commission check today like I do two or three times a month. I assume the teller was too lazy to verify it and told me she would need to put a hold on it. I told her that was odd and they had never done that before and she couldn't do that because I have bills to pay immediately. I asked her to give the check back to me and I would cash it and deposit cash. This was a huge inconvenience to begin with but I did it. All good.. cash in the bank... went home and paid over $2000 in bills that were set to draft from my account the following morning. After those are paid, I would still have a large amount in my account. Here's where it got awesome... I forgot about a bill I needed to pay and went online to pay it at about 1am and my card declined. Hmmm. That was odd. I checked my account and that LOVELY teller had put a hold on funds from a check that I never deposited and it was causing my account to be negative $2000+. Even better... IT IS SATURDAY and I have no way to resolve the issue and have zero funds to get me to Tuesday (Monday is s bank holiday). Also, the bills I paid are going to get rejected and the whole thing is going to be a huge disaster. I will be switching banks next week. This is UNACCEPTABLE.
