My uncle (70 years old) and I have been cutting and splitting firewood for 5 hours straight... sore and tired we came to this establishment (that my uncle used to frequent readily, until tonight)... to ease the aches.... bartender refused to serve him Bc he was "staggering"... mind you, not knocking over chairs, tables, running into ppl... just gimpy and not walking erect and easily... as I entered to discuss the issue with the bartender (knowing he was stone cold sober), I enter to find the bartender running his mouth to the rest of the bar patrons about my uncles "obvious intoxicated state" and how he "could get the f*** out of his bar if he didn't like it".... now, coincidentally, someone staggering THAT bad should have some sort of speech infliction to coincide with this assumed state, which he didn't... and given their age they may not be real steady on their feet to begin with let alone after a full day of manual labor... I assure you, this Vietnam Vet will not be returning to your establishment and your above and beyond unprofessional bartender might need to be reevaluated if he finds talking about a completely sober elderly is appropriate.... not to mention it took me a whole minute to get him to shut his mouth long enough for me to explain to him what was going on Bc come hell or high water he felt he needed to defend himself... no apology, no nothing... just a good ole f*** you and as I walked out the door... we won't be back, you want to refuse service that's fine, but educate your bartenders on age, disability, and other obvious signs of inebriation and if they DO indeed make that call, let's teach them a little about being professional and not running their mouths about innocent ppl that simply wanted to put their money in your business!
