Story

Responsive Solutions is a local regional privately owned home infusion & Specialty Pharmacy serving the Grand Strand and surrounding counties with a personal touch since 1994. Responsive's service area is often called the Pee Dee of South Carolina.

Only a physician, nurse practitioner or physician's assistant may write for services obtained from Responsive. Responsive provides IV therapy for patients in the comfort of their own home. Services include IV antibiotics, TPN, IVIG, hospice medications, enteral therapy, catheter care and many other injectables. Specialty medications include multiple sclerosis, hepatitis, growth hormone, and HIV medications. Pharmacist teach patients, families and nurses how to administer these medications to the patient in the home setting. Responsive Solutions is accredited by JCAHO since 1996. Responsive has a 797 certified clean room for sterile IV preparation.

Responsive Solutions was founded July 4, 1994, by two pharmacist who love pharmacy and wanted to provide a higher level of care to their friends, neighbors and patients wanting or needing IV therapy who are candidates for home care. Responsive Solutions provides a professional environment with the personal touch and service to all its patients.

If you want Responsive Solutions you must ask for it by name or upon discharge from a facility of physician's office ask that they contact Responsive Solutions. Referrals by phone or fax are accepted from hospitals, discharge planners, physician's offices, nursing agencies, hospices, and skilled nursing facilities. Patients usually have an IV access that is durable for several weeks or months although infusions can be given thru peripheral and\or subcutaneous access depending on the medication prescribed. The staff at Responsive Solutions works very closely with the physician, home nursing agency, the family and the patient to ensure that there are no complications, and the therapy is completed successfully through clinical monitoring of the patient progress.

Responsive Solutions processes any referral and medication orders upon receipt from the prescriber or their agent. Walk-ins patients are not accepted (we are a closed shop). Home infusion or IV therapy pharmacies like Responsive Solutions are often referred to as "infusion or specialty pharmacies".

Examples of diagnosis of patients needing Responsive's care include but are not limited to: severe infection where oral antibiotics do not work, HIV/AIDS, immune deficiencies, nutritionally compromised patient, multiple sclerosis, cancer and terminally ill patients, such as patients in hospice where oral pain medication has stopped working, patients needing intensive rehab but also need IV antibiotics where rehab at home is not practical as in a skilled nursing rehab facility, intestinal surgeries that compromise food absorption, orthopedic surgeries where an infection in the tissue or bone has occurred requiring weeks\months of IV antibiotics, drug resistant infections such as MRSA, situations where a catheter needs to be maintained for a later use, and many other injectables that are given IV, IM or SQ because of absorption or metabolism issues of the drug.

Responsive accepts most private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare. Services are typically billed to the major medical component however some services are billed to Medicare Part D, prescription drug plans, or other and will be discussed with you by Responsive Solutions staff before initiating therapy.
