Story

THE VISION
Yakima is a beautiful place to live. Yet, our city is a broken place filled with broken people. We see the need for Restoration- restoration of souls, restoration of homes, restorations of neighborhoods, restoration of our community. Many churches and individuals are already serving this city with an outreach mindset. We believe it's time to take that heart to the next level. Let's commit to living life together with those different than us, and let's worship Jesus as "one", as he prayed in John 17.

The DNA of Restoration Church includes:

UNITY
It is our desire to reflect the diversity of our city. Beyond that, we want Christ to be made known not by our size or by our programs, but by our unity in Christ, regardless of our earthly differences (John 17:21-23; Romans 15:7)

To accomplish this- we proclaim the message of Philippians 2:3-4 to not look toward our own interests and preferences, but to consider others in order for the gospel to advance.

RELATIONSHIPS
We believe that ministry is all about relationships. Jesus taught this exact thing, that it's all about our relationship with Him and our relationship with others (Matthew 22:36-40).

We are intentional in developing meaningful relationships with those different than us. We want to connect people with Jesus and to one another so they can grow in community as God intended.

DISCIPLESHIP
God doesn't just desire converts. He wants disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). Disciples who put Christ first in all things, who learn and live God's word, who love other disciples, and who share their faith to make disciples of others.

Restoration Church's view of discipleship is simple. We believe the church is not just a building or location, rather it is the people who represent the body of Christ. We create opportunities to serve, learn, and live life together outside of Sunday mornings.
