knowing i was paying out of pocket and going blind in my left eye, he charged me 700$ to look at me and tell me i have UVitis and he wont treat with the only cure wich is oral prednizone, and told me he wanted me to go see a different specialist 2 get the treatment, knowing i was going home to go blind because i dont have another 700$ to go get a 20$ prescription, so i waisted 700$ and left his office worse off than i showed up there, i feel like the few specialist we have in maine are friends and are all about passing the money back an forth, not about helping the patient that really needs the help, just a money game, iv spent $1,100  trying to get my left eye fixed and have received no help or cure. thanks dr. ripoff Balles

Dr. Balles and his office and surgical teams were outstanding pre, post and during the procedure. My vitreous detachment/floater condition was diagnosed and corrected. I would recommend Dr. Balles to anyone who needs a knowledgable and experienced eye surgeon who can help you regain your quality of life as it relates to your vision. 

Dr. Balles is extremely technical and committed to his work in restoring one's eyesight with a little humor thrown in for a good doctor-patient relationship. A special and respected Doctor in his field.

An awesome experience all around.
