So i'm not the type to go out of my way and post a negative review, but I decided to try out Retro today for the first time with a complementary guest pass and it was such a disappointing experience. When going to a new gym for the first time, I'd like to think the staff would show you around or at least let you know what the club offers. Once I signed in, the gentleman working basically told me I was good to go and didn't offer me any of Retro's benefits. I was interested in purchasing a membership with retro, so having a tour and seeing all they had to offer was one of the reasons I came to visit, but it seemed like I was just another "Guest." Once I asked him where spinning took place and where the ladies locker room was, It seemed like I was simply annoying and imposing on his day. I did enjoy the spinning session, however, felt very unfamiliar and out of place due to not given any sense of direction and decided to finish up my cardio by taking a two mile hike home. The gym was clean and had up to date equipment, however, the negative staff was enough to not make me want to get a membership with Retro. When going to a gym, you should be surrounded by positive individuals who wish to help you at every single step of your journey and provide a sense of direction.

Saw this on the yelp page: "Has potential but....It's not clean. The first 3 times I went here, the same dirty napkin was in the bikes drink holder. That grossed me out. Other Retro's have a great movie projector- this one is so old the movies look pink. So that's no good. On to the bathroom- with the same bottle of dollar store hand soap that's been re-filled with water until it is now just water. The broken, wobbly scale in the bathroom, the askew toilet seat lids. Let's see, what else. Oh yeah, the scuzzy mirrors, or how about there are no disinfecting wipes like other gyms. The fact is, it's just closer to my house than any other Retro- so I go here, but I would really prefer they cleaned the place up. It's pretty gross."

HAHAHAHA this gym. First of all, that random worker with the glasses during the day shift....all he does is eat and text at the table (the tables that aren't even at the front desk!) And it's so comical because as he's doing next to nothing, the paper towels and hand sanitize machines remain completely out! What a joke...machines are usually always broken and take days to fix. And now they added random grass and took away all the machines where the ab stations used to be? HA. Look elsewhere.

It was perfect until the assisted pull-ups and dips machine broke. No one fixed it and when I inquired they said that they will never fix it. I got most of my upper body back workouts on that machine and now i am extremely Limited on what I am able to get done in the gym. In order to do shoulder arms or back that I used to get done in a pull-up and dip machine and I have to go to the gym on base. This to me is unacceptable because this was one of the reasons I joined the gym in the first place. Other than this being missing the gym is decent especially for the price that you pay and has all other equipment to satisfy other workouts
