Story

"Rex" has been synonymous with quality Italian foods in the Chicago-land area for decades. Contrary to popular belief there is no "Rex". Its just the Latin word for 'King'. Rex has been King of the Italian delis since the late 1960's when two Italian brothers by the name Cinquino opened up on Chicago's west side. They later moved their business to Chicago's north side by the Harlem & Foster area where they stayed in business for years. The name later re-surfaced in 1993 at our current location 4431N Harlem Ave., where we have been keeping up with the Rex tradition.

At Rex we cook our own Italian beef and hand stuff our own sausage. We also carry premium Italian lunch-meats and specialties and manufacture our own line of homemade pastas. And for those of you on the go, we offer a wide variety of prepared, ready to serve items, such as lasagnas, chicken entrees, salads, and desserts.
Finally, We also cater! Whether it's dine-in, carry-out, or catering, the Pinello family, who now owns and operate, this Italian family business, invite you to stop by and be part of the ongoing tradition of quality food and service.
