The service was excellent. I really liked the salsa but I wish the queso had something with it besides just cheese like peppers. The chips were a bit thick for me. I had a beef burrito. I understand why they did it but the tortilla was greasy. My digestive system wasn't great at the time because of my pancreas and greasey foods seems to be one of the main triggers.

Food was surprisingly bland, especially the refried beans. I had a steak/Bean and cheese burrito and didn't really care for it. Then the salsa was a bit sweet, I prefer more savory; however it still had good flavor for a sweeter hot sauce. Oh, and it was very hot, used a lot of Jalapeno's. So, if u like very hot salsa then u have to get an order of chips and salsa from here. That brings me to their chips, they make their own chips and are on the thicker variety of tortilla chips, and have a good seasoning covering them that pairs nicely with the salsa. Quite honestly, the chips and salsa was the only thing that earned this restaurant 3 stars, since the food was bland.

Great place I highly recommend it to every one I know. If you stop here give the "Son of A Gun" a try.

Fantastic$5.99 special tacos with beans, rice and salad. Fresh large portions. They have $5.99 specials everyday. Newly renovated interior. Clean, fresh, chairs comfortable. Probably the best value in Brownwood Texas for lunch serving Mexican food. Tortillas are made fresh daily. Chips are crunchy, fresh and lightly coated with paprika. Salsa is good medium heat with a mid thickness consistently. With overall value, remodeled dining plus fantastic authentic food this is a hidden gem for breakfast and lunch.
