We went to the Rio in Greeley last night. Our wait was just a little shorter then we expected, which is perfect. We sat outside ordered drinks, they arrived then ordered our food. And waited, and waited, and waited. Our server came by and said the kitchen was really backed up and asked if he could buy us a round. Again great! Shortly after that a manager came by with a free appetizer, not good but great gesture. We continued to wait. We were there with my in-laws and our one year old daughter, buy this time it was way past my daughter's bedtime and she was turning into a pumpkin, so my husband and I had to leave. As we were leaving we noticed that not a single tablet in the restaurant had food and it appeared they had turned people away. It was Friday night at 8:45, it didn't seem like it should be as empty as it was. The in-laws stayed and got our food to go. It was well over an hour before our food arrived. The bill was not discounted for the wait, the only compensation given was a round of drinks and a free app. It was completely apparent that something happened in the kitchen or another part of the restaurant. Instead of apologizing to the patrons and saying they couldn't fulfill our order, they limped along. In this case I would have much rather been turned away with an "I'm sorry, it's just not going to happen tonight," then waiting over an hour. I know this was fluke, but it was handled very poorly.

Great food and service. The hostesses need to dress more professionally or I would give it 5 stars. Management needs to look out for the young ladies working there to maintain a respectable environment. A pretty and friendly face is great to have out front. A girl sould not have put her body on display to keep a hostess job. This old dad felt bad for her.

We had a great dinner and the drinks were delicious. What made it even better was the fact that one of the wait staff knew American Sign Language (ASL). Especially a bonus since .my husband is Deaf!!! Recommend to wall who love Mexican cuisine.

The food there is more trendy than authentic. The Margaritas will convert you though. Three is a good limit. I am not super impressed with what I have had of the food (admittedly I have mostly drank here.) I may change that some day but my boyfriend doesn't like eating there. The service was hit and miss the few times I went. It stays busy so most people seem to enjoy the place. Like I said, it is trendy. Try it and you may like it.
