Family owned and operated since 1959, Risher Mortuary and Cremation Service has continued to provide the utmost in personal care that Ray and Marge Risher founded the business upon. Barbara Risher Welch, along with her husband Greg, have dedicated this business as a ministry to the bereaved, where the family's comfort is the highest priority. Risher Mortuary provides all aspects of funeral services and, unlike many of the corporate owned mortuaries, vows to do so most affordably.

All the staff at Risher worked diligently to bringing together the beautiful service for my Father. The service was flawless and our Family appreciated the extra time they took to prepare and type the bereavement letters for the Family.

Growing up in and around the eastside, I was familiar with Risher Mortuary. My mother was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and my father was hospitalized at the same time-two of biggest blows a person can face in their lifetime. I knew my mother was terminal. I contacted Risher Mortuary and spoke with Nancy Valdez. She immediately jumped into action and we began the process of what I wanted to do once my mothers' time was over on this earth. We also spoke of future plans for my father's passing. My father passed suddenly and Nancy was the first person I called. She hand walked me through the whole process on the phone, covering every detail and making sure that I was clear on what I wanted for my father. She was in touch with me constantly. If I had any questions, I would call her and she would answer my calls immediately. When the time came for my father's services, Nancy handled everything. 3 months later, my mother passed and again I found myself calling Nancy. She came to my rescue as if I was her sister. She helped me with every detail for my mother's services. I received top notch service for this very trying and emotional time in my life. Nancy never complained about my calls, always took her time with me and was the most professional woman considering what she had to deal with. I owe Nancy Valdez the highest accolades for helping me through the most difficult time of my live.

Barbara Risher and her staff were amazing to my family at a horribly tragic time in our lives. From the first phone call she was available to us with any questions and was so professional throughout the process of cremation for my dad. The hospital had some major issues and we were worried that we wouldnt have things prepared in time for the already planned service but Barbara did everything possible to make it happen. We would have pulled our hair out if it was not for her! Barbara was also very patient in helping me to order keepsake necklaces of my fathers fingerprints that she took, she provided information on all of the different options and only charged me her cost. I know there are companys who use death (and weddings!) as an excuse to mark up prices but not only did she take time to assist me she did not mark up the product. I know these will be a treasured momento of our dad for the rest of our lives. Losing a loved one is an incredibly difficult time and it is so reassuring to know there are people like the Rishers who take deep pride in their business. With her nursing experience I feel that Barb is really able to relate to those she is helping. I highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.

The entire Risher staff went above and beyond what I would have expected of a mortuary. They met with my family on our schedule and treated us with compassion and decency. Never once did I feel like I was just another case or business transaction for them. My Dad would have loved the service they arranged for us. If you are ever in need of a comfortable and loving experience in a very difficult time, this is definitely the place!
