Located in famous Boat Town at 29370 South River Road Harrison Township, we are pleased to serve you with 40 years of experience in Restaurant Excellence.
Jimmy Tamburrini, Chef, and Harrison Township resident since 1987, along with Cousin Anthony Palleschi, owner of Villa restaurant in Eastpointe, have been working together for 25 years. The pair are 3rd generation restaurant owners and operators. They acquired the location for River Rat Restaurant and Bar, the former site of Shannon's Steak House, in 2007, following the sale of their previous establishment, Bravo! Italian Restaurant in Roseville. As a resident of Boat Town and lifelong boater, Jimmy always admired the location on South River Road and understood the pulse of the community. He thought the name 'River Rat' would appeal, or at the least, draw attention to their efforts to create a place of hospitality that boaters would appreciate. After careful planning, hard work, and the recruiting of an excellent experienced staff, the River Rat has been well accepted in the community. "Our concentration is to always serve good food and develop many signature dishes, while providing excellent table service." We are proud that our efforts have gained us the votes to be awarded BEST SEAFOOD RESTAURANT in Macomb County for 2014, by the Macomb Daily. True seafood dishes such as Fish & Chips, Baked Spinach & Feta Cod, Lake Perch, and Walleye are River Rat's top-sellers. But, don't forget our Steak-by-the-ounce, Italian specialties, sandwiches, salads, signature pizza, plus full liquor beer and wine service. River Rat opens at 3:00 pm daily and if you don’t want to drive yourself, River Rat can be accessed anywhere your boat may be from in any marina, along the Clinton River or Metro beach via Harrison Township by shuttle at 586-612-4454.
