I had a laptop broken but I wanted to wait and give the person who broke it time to pay or replace the item before getting police involved. (Back story a policemen officer told me on August 3rd it was better not to report the incident so a family member called to make the appointment because obviously no one can stop me from making a report). So, my family member called the police station and made an appointment with the Police Chief without my knowledge beforehand. I thought this appointment was too soon and I hadn't given the person time enough to repay me back. So, I called to cancel the appointment today and I was met with a rude White policemen (his voice sounded like a White guy) on the other end of the phone. Note that it was today (Monday, August 17, 2015) at 8:37am. I called the main number and pressed 5 for non-emergency dispatch (I did not know the extension for the Police Chief's office). The policemen answered the phone and I told him I was calling to cancel an appointment with the police chief that someone else made for me and that I didn't know if I had the right extension. He said mumbled something but I couldn't hear him. So, my thought was that he said to repeat what I said because there went silent after he said it. So I started to repeat my reason for calling again and he yelled into the phone "I said hold on and I'll transfer you". WHAT A RUDE BASTARD. Maybe he shouldn't have mumbled the first time and I would had heard him say that he'll transfer me the first time. I'm so disgusted with this police station right now and the lack of customer service. You should not be mean to someone just because they are calling the police station. The police are supposed to be their to help people. I wasn't rude to him so he shouldn't have been rude to me. First, an officer tells me it wouldn't do any good to file a report (which what he should have done is tell me the process of filing and all that comes with it and describe to me my options in handling the situation). Then, a guy (I don't know if it was the same officer) yells at me through the phone for trying to cancel an appointment. That officer needs customer service training or something because he shouldn't be allowed to talk to citizens in that way.

River Rouge Police are great. Always in good mood and happy to assist people, even non-public safety personnel. Good atmosphere!

It's funny how they just pass by the local stop signs without stopping at all, without even putting their lights on all around High St. Most likely going to hit someone one day.
