This is my favorite New York state park, possibly my favorite park anywhere. My wife & I got married here; we camp & hike here every summer. The trails are well kept and naturally beautiful. The campsites are also well kept, typically well spaced, the shower house is always in good order. The lower north shelter is gorgeous. The park staff are friendly and helpful. The park is right outside Ithaca so you can run out to the store or for dinner if you're camping, or you can stay in a hotel and hike for the day. It's nearby to other state parks as well. I've never been disappointed by a trip here.

We loved this park. The campsite for our popup was large, level, shaded, and had electric, but no water. The bathroom and showers were fine; not 5 star, but clean and well maintained. The gorge hike was awesome and we walked past several waterfalls. We came after Labor Day so swimming at the Lower Falls had ended for the season, but looked like fun. We could have spent more time here exploring, and we hope to come back.

I went to the upper part where Lucifer Falls is and found the water flow on the low side but enough to get some nice shots. The park was quiet even though the parking lot was half full. There's lots of room for folks to spread out and enjoy nature.

Spent 6 nights here in early October. There is heated bath house with free showers. Only a dozen sites have electricity and there is no water or sewer hook up so if that is important to you then make alternate plans. Great trails and easy access to Ithaca and the Finger Lakes. We will stop again.

Swimming area is big and has a diving board(!), and of course the waterfall is gorgeous. 💖 However the water is quite brisk, so only go if it is hot or you don't mind cold water! Water is clear too, it's great! Sadly all state parks don't allow masks that cover your nose (what??) and no flippers. Their reason was not that it could potentially hit anyone, but "it's a swimming aid and no swimming aids except approved life vests". Flippers can't make someone who can't swim suddenly able to swim. They actually only are of use to people who already swim well. That reasoning is ridiculous.
